Happy opening Tiana’s bayou adventure I’m very excited to ride this for the first time I love this movie and I love Tiana
@Bwman384 ай бұрын
This is my 2nd time watching a full ride through and, in all honesty, I think it looks pretty good after seeing it now. The first time through, the ride seemed like a snooze fest - particularly the lift before the drop… but they added more music and visual effects (we’ll see how long the latter works, lol), and it improved what I felt was the most lacking in the ride. I’ll always personally maintain that splash was a better ride on the whole, but I wouldn’t be upset if people I were with liked it and wanted to go.
@danielandlucycartoonsmadne58854 ай бұрын
Splash Mountain had a conflict and resolution. It’s all fun until B’rer Fox captures B’rer Rabbit, the music becomes ominous and the lights become darker. It becomes creepy and unnerving as you go up the lift hill. After you drop, the tension releases with fun music and singing. Tiana doesn’t capture any of that. The fact that there is no conflict makes the story boring, and the big drop makes no sense anymore. The mood is happy and partying while you go up a lift hill about to drop you 50 feet which is kinda intense. Also why is Mama Odie making us go down a drop to get to the party?
@SpeedyCrabbit15333 ай бұрын

@@SpeedyCrabbit1533 Cool, it's still a thrill ride with a 50 foot drop, and no amount of pandering or sugarcoating takes that away. If you don't like the big scary ride with the big scary drop, don't ride it instead of demanding it be modified to pander to you.

After having a while to think about it, this ride isn't as horrible as some people are saying it is, it just isn't what we expected, and it's not the ride that we deserved. Disney wanted to make it toned down for little kids since it IS a princess ride now, which they shouldn't have done. It could have been a FANTASTIC ride based off the amazing movie, but Disney decided to make it just... ok. Nowhere near the masterpiece that was Splash Mountain, but a fun ride on its own. Should have gotten it's own ride in the beyond Big Thunder project. Overall, its lacking a good story, the animal animatronics suck, the exterior could be MUCH better, and NO DR. FACILIER?!? This had the potential for it to be like Mission Breakout. Mission Breakout is on equal levels to ToT. The difference being one builds its thrills on its action, while the other builds its thrills on its horror. Both are fantastic rides. This, this is a blunder.
@A_A6104 ай бұрын
@@TheRealCCall Mission Breakout worked because they knew what made Tower effective with its thrills, reusing most of what made the original work, while also finding new ways to reuse the ride system and make it even more effective than before (the new drop cycles deliver a better ride experience than before, and the decision to mix the story sequences in between the thrills really helps). Mission Breakout not only reused Tower's ride system, but helped push its potential even further. The reason this flops is because it did the opposite: instead of working to really capitalize on the ride system they were given, they felt the need to downplay and neuter its central features instead of properly incorporating them into the story (per an LA Times interview, they purposefully made the drops less suspenseful so they wouldn't be as scary). While Mission Breakout built up on what it was given, this was purposefully scaling itself back to pander to an audience it was never designed for.

Great POV but... Yawn... Several "high end" animatronics really aren't that high end. Tiana? She stands or sits like a zombie until your log trips a sensor. Then she springs into action by swaying a bit and waving her arms around as if she had just done a line of coke before freezing up again (just some minor movement) and waiting for the next log. Most of the animatronics in the ride are barely more sophisticated than a Small World doll. The ride seemed sparsely populated end even empty in certain parts reminiscent of the boring Navi' River Adventure and I feel the screens didn't work well. If it's obvious it's a screen then they're not achieving the effect they were looking for. (Excepting an attraction like Midway Mania.) Where's the tension when climbing the final lift hill for the big drop? I guess Disney decided it was too scary for little kids - who are too small to ride the attraction anyway. The music is not bad, but it's not nearly as catchy as Zipadeedoodah. The ride is not terrible. It just pales in comparison to it's predecessor. 21,000 complaining signatures caused this debacle citing "a need for more diversity and representation in the parks" and Disney buckled even though millions of people visiting the parks had no issue with Splash Mountain. Those whiners were too clueless to realize that the characters in Splash Mountain _were black_ and they got them replaced with a black frog princess. Had they never even _seen_ "Song of the South?) Well done morons. Reskinning Splash Mountain into Tiana's is a classic example of how to turn a beloved exciting "E" ticket attraction into a mediocre "C" ticket attraction. If it hadn't replaced a superior attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure would have made a decent Fantasyland dark ride. At least they didn't turn the mountain into another gift shop or just close it up and abandon it I suppose. Matters not. I don't do Disney anymore.

@opinionatedindividual8146 I do, including reagonal parks with little budget that have better looking rides than this. This is just embarrassing!

The worst re-theme in Disney history. Bring back Splash Mountain. This Tiana re-theme absolutely sucks.

In terms of being their most high profile flop, sure. Their worst ever in terms of the level of quality and enjoyment in comparison to the predecessor, I'd say Journey into YOUR Imagination and Stitch's Great Escape were more lackluster (though this is up there with them).
