Powered speakers are also excellent alternatives to sound bars in these price ranges. Love using my Klipsch Fives in our living room, and they provide better dialogue and imaging than most sound bars under $1500.

i am interested in THE NINES / THE SEVENS / THE FIVES....what i want to use them for is TV speakers for movies and sports....are the fives acceptable for this or would i need to go with the sevens or nines. I may also add a subwoofer .....thank you...cheers from Canada

Any of these would be great for this. We'd recommend stepping up to the Sevens. We think you will be very pleased with the improved performance of them.

@@AudioAdvice thx for your response...ya i am tossing either the 7's or 9's....also thinking about the Edifier s3000Pro's...your thoughts ?
@mikew1080

The nines I purchased turned out to be awful. I'm not exaggerating when I say that there are 300$ passive speakers that hold their own against them. -E/Arc didn't work with my LG or Sony TV -imagining is awful. Everything bleeds together. From large rooms to small rooms. EQ does not help. Placement does not help. They sound like they are mono -soundstage doesn't exist. No width, no height -bass is muddy and the mids/treble aren't much better -vocals often disappear behind instrumentation -cabinet has resonance issues -app is fine when it decides to work -being all in one doesn't make them a value. I'd say they are worth 500$ as is for convenience at the most. -source does not matter, they don't perform I can't recommend them at all and can't figure out at all why reviewers hype them up. I would shop other brands.

Hi! I have the Powered Speakers Edifier S1000 MK II and I just need to listen to my CDs, I am thinking of getting the Yamaha CD Player S303 and I don't wanna spend more money in other devices, is it worth? Can I Take advantage of the Built In DAC in the CD Player with my speakers?

Ok, I’m 3 minutes in and really new to this trying to find a nice pair of speakers for my vinyl turntable… now correct me if I’m wrong but the first speaker mentioned is designed to sit under your turn table? Now… isn’t that the absolute worst idea ever? Putting something that vibrates under your turntable? Can I keep trusting the other recommendations?
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice 10 ай бұрын
That is a great question. Normally we would say yes, it is better to not even have your turntable on the same surface as your speakers. However Andover designed their soundbase to be very inert. These choices were for people who have a turntable and nothing else. If you have an amplfier, you could add passive speakers, and the other speakers in the overview sound better than the Andover. Feel free to reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss in more detail.

Small room it's downstairs-wife's office is upsairs). Cerwin-Vega's are causing nasty horrendous feedback with my turntable. Need to figure out something quick. Smaller powered speakers? I want it loud! Can these do that? The Peachtree M25's look interesting. Kanto. Spin Base is designed to be feedback proof so that got my attention but I love L+R stereo separation, etc. so that may not work out. for me.

Powered speakers are only good if you have a special need. The reason I don't like them is if the electronics get fried or just fail, for whatever reason, you'll need to by a new pair of speakers. No one is going to repair them, unless you take on the challenge your self. An inexpensive class D amp with passive speakers I think are a better way to go.

Best Solution (Sound an Futurewise, Guarantee, Resale etc) is to avoid these ,All in one, concepts (also Master & Slave Concepts) and buy an Solid DAC / Pre Amp and pair them with an established Active on the Market. Would avoid these Actives wich has build in everything. The Plate Amps are the cheapest and one of the most low qualitys Amp Boards you can purchase.

We do mention some options at end of the video but a lot of beginners tend to want powered speakers with it all built in. But you are correct, separate components almost always will sound better. Thanks for sharing!
