I think the song reminded Ted of his family, it's likely that he watched Frozen with them, but also he was hearing the lyrics about letting go (of his family, even just temporarily) set him into a panic attack

Recovering from heartbreak, got out of rehab 4 months ago and feel like relapsing. And to put a cherry on top, I broke my ankle because some crazy karen tweaker slammed my car door as I tried to get off to the store. Filing a lawsuit at the moment and having no health insurance. I have depression because of my other mental health problems and anxiety because I have too much in my back.

Pro tip. A song playing in the background in this show is neeever without purpose. It’s extremely on purpose. Go back to the panic attack scene and pay attention to Let it Go’s lyrics 😉

FYI...the song playing while Ted is signing the divorce papers is the same song from Bridgerton the first time Daphne & the Duke have sex after their marriage....except in Bridgerton it was an instrumental version of the song. Listen to the words of the songs, "Isn't it strange? How people can change. From strangers to friends. Friends into lovers. And strangers again." Ted & Rebecca going back to strangers with their exes. Keeley and Roy transitioning from friends into lovers. Ted meeting Sassy, a stranger.
