It's a sick thing to say actually because Mean Gene was right about him what he said after Steamboat finally got his revenge win on him by interviewing Roberts in a locker room arena shower that he was a sick man. Nevertheless it was chilling that he said it.

More recently, Jake participated in a shoot interview in which he mentioned that Steamboat and the WWF both wanted for Jake to apply the DDT on the concrete. They wanted the heat, of course. Jake says he begged off on it; he didn't want to do it because it was too dangerous, but Steamboat and the powers that be prevailed. Jake says that he was terrified that he had killed him and that when you see him yelling shortly afterwards, he's yelling at the booker "This is on you." Given his fear and remorse, it's remarkable that Jake did slap the snake on Steamboat afterward and that he so convincing plays his role in this vignette.
