This is as good as it get. Thank You Jake Roberts. This is one of the reasons why I'm 44 years old with two of your action figures on my writing desk.

The best part of this promo? He didn't have any writers. None of these 80's wrestlers did. Piper, Savage, Roberts, DiBiase, Rhodes and Flair didn't need writers. That's why they were "better" than today's wrestlers. Not because of their wrestling but you could honestly feel how genuine their words were.

you need to watch more than just WWE. Nobody else uses writers or scripts promos.

This and Jake’s “Trust me” promo at This Tuesday in Texas always make my hairs stand on end. Right up there with “Hard Times”

Jake was the anti- hero but Ted was the greatest heel in the Mid-South days. Very cool you got these two together.

Ted’s heel skills were unbelievable. The one with the kid and the basketball was just amazing. I don’t know how he got out of that arena without being lynched.

I was just thinking. If Ted's character were just created today, he would have to be the "Billion Dollar Man" Love the stories fellas!!👍
@lyndacarter5090 Жыл бұрын
I guess you’d have to update Cooper’s ‘Million Dollar Babies’ as well? 😊 sorry, it was there. Ted really did well in his character creation, too. People really get irked at rich, entitled, self-important individuals.
Between this promo and the post-Elizabeth slap promo shows that Jake Roberts was one of the best ever on the mic as he could work it either as the Babyface or the Heel - and for the latter his psychology might be the best ever.

This feud was the best of 1990. The Bossman face turn was well done leading up to the match at Mania

I just watched this promo. Hands down greatest promo of the hayday. Totally took me back to THAT wrestlmania. Disease was an incredible heel. It was a brilliant angle he played.

Very rarely comment on these videos. However that promo was unbelievable. Classic example of how you don't need to shout to make an excellent promo.

Jake The Snake Roberts ( the character ,not him personally ) is wrestlings first serial killer . It was never expressed or directly exploited but if you ever met a real serial killer he would have the same vibe as The Snake . If we heard that a guy we knew that reminded us in any way Jake Roberts had been found with corpses in his basement none of would have been entirely shocked .

Hey folks u will never ever see a promo like this ever AGAIN why because the boys now have no idea how to talk and come up with there own words it's too bad the young kids today won't listen to anyone trying to tell them how is DONE the young people think they know it all AND THEY DON'T
