Having a close family relative works for certain provinces only. For example: if the applicant’s relative is living in Saskatchewan/Manitoba, then the applicant is eligible to earn 20 points to the respective PNP’s selection factor. It does not add points to the CRS scores. In order to claim CRS points, applicant’s relative in Canada (irrespective of the province) must be your brother or sister. If you have a sibling living in Canada, you can claim an additional 15 points toward your score.
