I'm recently getting better at using unity Hdrp and I will admit while not on par with Unreal engine it's getting pretty damn class, the rendering is good enough for semy realism. It can do GI from probes and environment lighting on the spot and that's a win in my book. Not fantastic but ok.

bro... i started with 3D like 3 years ago with Octane (still using) and did daily renders on a laptop with a 1050ti in it. You probably can find used laptops with even a 1060 or better gpu for like 100-300? You have a lot fewer options if a chose an old MacBook (AMD GPU) or any Windows Laptop with an AMD GPU, but some should even work without cuda or just using cpu. AMD and Apple actually don't give an f for artists for years and keep all the money. Good guy Nvidia already supported new solutions, tools and ideas from small companies 10 years ago. That's why nearly everything runs with/on CUDA and makes it so easy to integrate.

I'm just hesitant about choosing a graphics card. 1st option: 4070ti Super 16gb with warranty Option 2: 3090 24gb without warranty Which one would you choose?

So in terms of gaming, the RTX 4070 ti Super seems to outperform the 3090 even at 4k. But try having a look on KZbin in terms of rendering.
