Jesse is sooo much more watchable than Chris was. Very natural, conversational in a way that feels casual and sincere. Chris also had this paternalistic energy sometimes that was really annoying, whereas the way that Jesse acts with the contestants is much more friend-like and very egalitarian.

I've taken note of the group-date audiences for Joey's season particularly b/c it was filming right in the midst of the Hollywood strikes. Whit: any theories about the large sizes for these dates? Game shows and reality shows weren't struck projects, so I imagine there were a fair number of working actors thrilled for a chance to get paid, even if for a day. Or is this a nothing-burger that I just imagined seems different than most years?

Great point! I think by now, the Bachelor franchise is so big that people flock to it regardless of compensation (I’m almost certain no “extras” were paid this season (or any season!)). So I don’t think the strike affected much, unless some writers and producers who otherwise would have been working got to join the audience 😆

I agree with Ry, I don’t like to have to pay attention so much at the beginning. I like it to have a soft start so you can get into it first. I find the beginning of the episode jarring now.
