Thanks for this; it's just what I was looking for. Gel is the way to go. Too bad about the Hi-Tec C, but the Zebras should be plenty good. Fisher Bullet is a beautiful pen with a so-so refill (unless you're in space). This hack solves the problem!

Any refill thin enough should work. With little or jo modification, I've been able to use the following refills: Jetstream Edge .28mm Pilot Hi-Tec-C Slim Knock Pilot Acroball Pilot Frixion Pentel Glidewrite Faber Castell 1423 Jetstream 101 You can make the standard Jetstream refill work, too, but you have to trim the collar off.

in my experience the pilot frixion uses a cartridge identical to a g2-07 cartridge...how does that work?

@@Strawberry92fs it won't fit because the diameter is too big. Standard Jetstream refills have a collar that helps them fit rollerball- and gel-sized pens, but the ink reservoir itself is very narrow. All the refills I mentioned are oil-based, low-viscosity ballpoints, except for the Hi-Tec-C and Frixion. I should have specified that it was a Frixion Slim that I was able to fit. Pilot G2s and standard Frixion are gel pens and need bigger refills because they run out so much faster.

@@carlswanson808 thank you. I've been very specifically looking for a pink gel refill that will work. I've ordered a zebra/shashralla multipen that claims to be a gel pen to see if thise will work, and if they do I can buy a whole pack of just pink refills. I received a wonderful pink fischer bullet pen with my name engraved on it as a gift, and wanted pink gel ink in it. I always carry a black pen and a pencil if I need those anyway so no harm in my primary pen being pink

F 301 is what does it for me and I find are the ones that smeer under water .but it seem like this is likely with any ink . maybe the one that keeps smeering and has a hard time coming of the paper and not looking like trash is the one that suits my taste .cus if the paper smeers of ink we know something funny right in case of check fraud .

Thank you this is a great video. Saved me a lot of time and money so this is a valuable video. I would love to see how the Hi-Tec refill fits with no hacking of the shoulders, and then also curious if you could add makeshift shoulders by squeezing the refill at the right point with pliers. Might get messy but I would definitely give it a shot. If you wouldn't mind making a video on this I think it will be well received as the Hi-Tec is a well loved pen. At the very least it will be greatly appreciated by me. EDIT: @L. Chalwell had a good idea. Can you also report if adding another spring on top solves the issue. Curious to see if the springs actually sit well on top of each other. I have spare springs from either a Uniball Jetstream or 207 RT.

I just received my first Fisher Space Bullet ballpoint; I got it in blueberry blue and bought a silver clip for it. Because of the many reviews I saw about it, I assumed the ink was substandard, so I went ahead and bought several Zebra JK G Series gel refills. To my delight, I discovered that this ink writes pretty decent. Now I'm assuming that the company heeded the many complaints about the ink and improved upon it. Either that or I'm just simply satisfied with the ink. This pen writes nice; I put it in the same category as both Acro and Jetstream ink pens. The only reason I would use an alternative refill is if I wanted a smaller tip size. Also, I like this pen much more than I do the Parker Jotter. The weight of this small pen is quite nice. I like the pairing of the chrome grip section and silver clip. It's an excellent pen to pair up with a Traveler's notebook in either the Standard or Passport size. Great little pen!

i also use the jk refills and i can easily burn through 1 in a day with the amount of drawing i do sometimes. u can also get the same refill to fit in the ag-7 very well with some modification the to spring. i also sanded it down and lubed it etc. i have also been thinking about trying a smaller nib in it since the 0.7 writes too big for fine drawing a lot of the time. u cant very the line weight like with bics etc. either like when u want to scratch or ghost, it usually wont let you, almost always all or nothing. the smaller refills are like twice the price though, at least on amazon.

I have noticed the same issues with the Zebra G-301 refills as others. I was wondering if anyone tried the Parker refills? They are .9mm longer and 1mm thicker, but the shape of the tip part seem to be quite similar.

Parker's are too thick. Just tried it because I had one laying around and they seem identical on photos. Too bad. I really wish I could make In> Jetstream refills work but they have this collar which prevents it.

I have TWO Fisher Bullet Space Pens. Taking the advice offered in this video, I purchased several Zebra G-301 pens with extra refills. THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WORK in the Fisher Bullet Space Pen -- even when they are trimmed to the identical length. The geometry of the refill at the tip is completely different. Additionally, the Bullet comes with TWO springs -- one is easily removable when the cartridge is replaced. The other near the tip of the pen is not. Yes, it possible that Zebra and or Fisher have changed their refill designs since this video was made. That MUST be the answer. I can report that the Zebra G-301 will absolutely NOT fit into the Fisher Space (bullet) Pen. Not gonna happen, Amigo.

@@unsharpen It's the geometry of the Zebra G-301 refill. It does not match that of the Fisher bullet -- as stated in my initial message. Please purchase a G-301 refill -- as they are currently manufactured and try it for yourself. That's really too bad because the G-301 is superior to the Fisher pressurized cartridges in all respects -- except writing upside down or underwater. UPDATE to my initial observations regarding the incompatibility of the Zebra G-301 and the current Fisher bullet. The issue appears to be the fixed (unremovable) spring in the nose of the bullet pen. It cannot be removed. I tried everything. The threaded insert pressed into the nose of the Fisher pen prevents the internal spring from being removed. The Fisher bullet has another (longer) spring that falls out when the Fisher refill is removed. It's the internal spring that prevents the G-301 from being inserted into the nose of the pen. IF you look carefully at the end of the G-301, you will note that the metallic ballpoint end is pressed into the clear plastic tubing. That creates an edge that catches on the internal (fixed) spring. Look at the smooth metallic Fisher cartridge. There is no lip to catch on the internal spring. I watched your video very carefully. There is no indication that the model bullet pen you have as this internal, fixed spring. As a matter of fact, your video doesn't show any spring when the G-301 (cutdown) refill is inserted. Because I screwed up the fixed spring attempting to remove it, I have to send my bullet pen back to Fisher for repairs. Fortunately, I have a second identical, current model bullet pen. I won't be attempting to remove its fixed spring.

Louis Girdler Jam the end of the g301 into the spring of the space pen. Try to force it down as hard as you can. The spring will get stuck on the refill g301 and you can pull it out.

u guys really dont need to do all that. purchase the zebra g-301 jk refils and just cut a little off the back to be the same exact length as the one that comes with the bullet or ag-7. the bullet does not need an extra spring or the original removed at all. maybe you have an extra spring because u are removing the cartridge from and actual pen and not just buying the refils. jk refills do not come with a spring, if yours did, u got the wrong shit. i use them in both the brass bullet and the ag-7. the ag-7 is the only one that needed any spring modification only because the original is too long. there is other mods u can do to make it even better too like polishing the parts. i should know, i been using these pens exclusively for weeks now replacing the refill almost everyday.

@@hplexicon no good, the cartridge was lost when I moved into my flat, but I found that if you take the white plastic piece off the end of the zebra there is an indentation where it "gripped" onto, cut the end off at that point and it is the exact length......

OK. I think there's a issue with space pen and Zebra gel refils - I have 3 space pens and none of them will accept the Zebra Gel Refil from the 301. They all catch too easily on the space pen spring and won't go through. I think this is a common issue with a number of space pens.
