Thank you for doing all of the work. The shine portion of wash and shine on the label is making reference that once your vehicle is washed it allows your existing protection it to shine through. It leaves nothing behind. Our dilution ratio for other uses is the same for everything 256/1

Historically Wash and Shine with car cleaning products means it has shine in it. At least in the UK market its how some car wash places also tier their packages you can get the standard wash or you can get the wash and shine. You also cannot predict the state of the car, some cars aint gonna shine after you clean them because the paint its woefull or in need of clay and polish etc.. I talk about this a bit more in the final video. But again its feedback that can be discarded or acted on. But I really like to know if these products leave stuff behind. You can remove any doubt by removing the wash and shine bit and stating on the label it leaves nothing behind. You would then be one of few that get that bit right.

Thx M8. Yer I've been obsessing over this rinseless stuff. Most of them are around 90% water which blew my mind. That's why it's very hard to see gauge any difference in them. Because the active ingredients level is already low before you mix them, after you mix them it's like miniscule.

It keeps the actual test video to a decent length and gives us lots of background (assuming we watch all your content). As far as branding goes nothing will beat Koch Chemie to me. Their periodic table thing and the color coding make it absolutely amazing, but I will say that I really the Armour Detail Supply as well. I just think its super clean looking. I heard that some of the distributors are out of the frosted bottle you typically see them in, and I feel like that would drive down the points for me. As always, your content is #1 for when it comes to car detailing. Keep up the great work!

My pal uses Comfort Laundry conditioner as a rinseless wash and he's convinced it works, he's a OCD nutter and in his defence it feels the same and his paintwork is excellent but he washes his cars twice a week I have even seen him out in the rain cleaning wheels especially in the winter months. I have used ONR for 8/9 years now and its perfect for me so I am sticking with that. Another Stella bit of work John but saying that I would not expect anything else, for me John has always been the best on the Tube however John over the last 10 years you have cost me a fortune 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is a daunting task, I've never attempted to compare any more than two at a time. Good on you Jon for putting in the work. Great, in-depth look at the now myriad options for rinseless/"waterless" washes. Also a good demonstration of why you should watch and listen to all of the stuff that's out there, that's the first time I've heard that story about Yvan & ONR. Talking of which, it's good to see those ratios on the big bottle, as they don't appear on the 236.6ml. one. Though it may be "The Daddy", maybe 1 mark less (obviously you can't be expected to review all product sizes).

What really appeals to me the most is the dilution ratios on the Carbon Collective bottle and its in METRIC!!!! what is important is the description of 100ml to 900ml of water- You don't have to think as they have done the calculation for you! Its like when you are in the supermarket and you are scanning your own shopping in self checkout - effectively you are working for the supermarket! So some brands you have to go away and convert the many different dilutions into metric, so effectively you are working to sort out a problem that should be on the bottle that you've paid for. Kudos to Carbon Collective

Incredible test Jon. I'm looking forward to your analysis and ranking video to come. And a big THANK YOU SIR for your efforts. Based on all those notes and observations you have, this has to be one of the most comprehensive tests on the current market rinseless washes ever done. I have been wondering how about half of these new rinseless jobs you test here worked before I spent my own money of them. I am a huge fan of rinseless washing, although touchless is becoming one of my new favorite ways to wash as it is far easier and actually produces pretty stellar results with the right products and process. Rinseless will still always have a place in my garage, especially in wintertime when I can't use my outside faucet, although I do still have access to water via my laundry room into my garage so at least I still can use my pressure washing equipment in the winter when I need it. Rinseless is by far the new "buzz word" in detailing over the past year, like the "Graphene" word was a couple of years ago. Just about every company is coming out with a new or improved rinseless wash in order to stay up with the current detailing market. Even many professional detailers are becoming converts over to rinseless washing as it is so efficient, saving time, saving money, and saving water. I personally want a rinseless wash that cleans the best. I don't want anything else inside my rinseless wash (such as wax, sealants, etc), although I do use an Si02 infused rinseless wash on occasion if the paint is really clean already, although the Si02 in a rinseless would only provide very minimal protection. I still use a drying aid which normally is much more protective than any Si02 in the wash would be. My current drying aid of choice after my rinseless washes is Technicians Choice Ceramic spray sealant which leaves a buttery smooth finish and plenty of topper protection. Of all the new rinseless washes, I think I am most interested in the Labocosmetica three different rinseless wash for a decontamination rinseless wash. That's very interesting to me to see if they can actually perform like high and low PH soaps in the same manner as a bucket decontamination wash. That could be a game changer for some professionals that were on the fence about using a rinseless wash system in their business.

A good label is a good label. I do take your point. But I kind of think its a good thing to do. Its your opportunity to reduce support overheads answering really basic questons. And it picks up on things that I think are very important. For example Autoglym not having the word rinseless wash anywhere on the product = bad. Mckes having no instructions = bad. So its a chance to grade user experience.

Yvan says the reason why their RW says shine is because it deep cleans the paint revealing what shine is naturally underneath.

@@BrianW1612That's exactly what local producers in my country do, there is not even one car shampoo that doesn't have "shine" or "brightener" in the description. I contacted directly and couldn't get a clue if they have wax or conditioner inside. What they said is that they have gloss enhancers that are not wax and make the paint shine but does not give protection or last. Go figure

I love a bit of AF but this product would not make the cut to get in the lineup. when I shortlist these I need to be able to calculate value. A lot of the UK brands dont give you the only piece of information you need as a buyer. The usage ratio, and when its not there it muddies the water in being able to calculate value. Best I can find is it says to use 150ml per bucket but again I have no idea how much a bucket is. typically about 40ml to 10 litres is the going rate. So the AF will not be cost effective at 150ml per wash. The cost per wash would be £2.84p roughly. Currently the highest in the test is 2.33p and thats already way too expensive.

I hope you weight the scoring towards the important parts of the review. For me marketing, branding etc. Is not important. We all have the benefit of reviews on the internet that would negative what's on the label.

no mate theres about 500 offerings brands now. Its just impossible. Ive had other brands saying the same thing. Can only really do so many but yer AW would have been very viable.

I was just checking out the AW product. So its 29.41 per litre but the usage ratio is 1:100. That yields a cost per wash of 4.44p a wash right (Based on a 15 litre bucket which is just a standard im using for cross comparison purposes). The market average is around 1.50 per wash. The most expensive in the test is 2.35p. Your way off market with the pricing of this product, its about 6 times the cost per wash of Koch. Ive given AG and some of the american ones a proverbial grilling for creeping over 2 pounds a wash. This wouldnt make the cut john thats not me being an A-hole but it needs to be more competitively priced than that.
