Hello Pan! Love your channel. Learing sooooo much from you. Thank for sharing your amaxing knowledge. ??? Do you know of any unscented quick exterior detailer or rinseless wash???
Thank you for featuring DIY Detail Rinseless Wash. For our Rinseless wash, keep all dilutions at 256/1 ( 4ml to a litre). Only as a detail spray, or prep wipe do you want a more concentrated solution with DIY Detail Rinseless Wash. When foaming in a foam cannon or pump sprayer adjust to get the level of foam you desire. You can use more for other applications, but it’s a waste of product, and can cause streaking.

I use absolute cause they are local to me in the Bay Area. I pair it with Rag company Wolf pack microfiber towels @480 gsm I find it’s the best for rinseless wash. I only need one gallon diluted 256:1 and I also use the same dilution in a Marolex 2000 pump sprayer for pre treatment. Each of the 9 Wolf pack towel I fold to use 8 sides so I get 72 passes just once can clean my entire 2 door Cayman. I use separate microfiber towels for wheels only. For door jams I use another sprayer diluted 64:1. Takes less then an hour from start to finish only using one gallon of water approximately.

Another use for ONR is as an additive in the windshield washer reservoir. I added 2 ounces to 3 liters, which is about 1:50. I did this both in summer in pure water and in winter as a supplement to an alcohol winter desiccant. My glass has never been as clean as possible, especially in winter.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын

I like onr, but blue color pigment settles on the bottom in my trigger sprayer. Solution becomes milky white. I wouldn't use onr for windshield washer, because it can glock the jets of your car system.
@nucars20 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFTDude and what concentration of ONR did you get as a result?
@nucars20 Жыл бұрын
@@PanTheOrganizer In winter, I used Liqui Moly -80C windshield washer concentrate. I diluted it according to the instructions for a temperature of about -20. And then I added 2 ounces of ONR to 3 liters of this composition. The temperature in winter was not lower than -15, so everything was OK. I'm not sure yet if higher concentrations of alcohol will affect the properties of the ONR. I want to experiment by adding isopropyl or methyl alcohol to the ONR in high concentrations.

Pan thank you for taking the time to put this video together. All of these products are great but the product which I buy is DIY! The first time using DIY I washed the vehicle first and then the wheels and tires. The water was dark after the wheels so it was time to have fun. I placed a microfiber towel in the bucket and rang it out then cleaned the windows. The windows turned out crystal clear after drying the windows with another microfiber towel even though the water in the bucket was dark. This was the moment where I knew the DIY rinseless was special. For my quartz countertops in the kitchen 256:1 cleans up spills and keeps the stainless steel smudge and fingerprint free. When using the foam cannon I add between 2 to 3 ounces depending on what the vehicle is telling me. When polishing if the polish/compound is oily I grab paint prep but for a compound like the gold standard 256:1 works great and gives me peace of mind about marring. Thank you for another great video!

How I love using rinse-less wash is post wash in the door jams or anywhere a part of the car would be closed normally during the wash (doors, trunks/rear hatch/rear window panels, fuel door, hood). I open everything up and use this clean all those areas up so the full car is clean! I just spray and use one towel to wipe away the solution and dirt and another towel to dry the area to touch.

We don't have a garage so I'm the kind to do it outside. I started using ONR as a claylube in 1:64 as recommended on the bottle, with deionized water many years ago. I've probably tried them all and I could say with the help of the CarPro dilute spray bottles, this is the absolute best results I got with a claylube ever, although I personally prefer something more along the lines of a 1:32 dilution ratio. Bonus points, it smells amazing (not as much as the strawberry candy-ish of the McKee's though, but super amazing nonetheless, like blueberry bubble gum or something) it's also the less expensive recipe by far, with no water spotting whatsoever even while completely drying under the sun for an hour while waiting for me to finish the clay stage, this stuff is just amazingly forgiving for this task.

You could use a rinseless wash diluted 256:1 for those purposes. Spray on, let it dwell, wipe off with a gentle plush microfiber towel. If the tree sap is more stubborn, see my tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jRaJWLn9iUetUsi=BIbTsv0CGmJJ6P6B

I followed the tip for home cleaners in the video you made about 6-8 months ago. There were various different recipes with vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, etc. Do you find that THOSE cleaners work better around the house or the ONR recipes you included in this video? The ones from the older video worked well for us, especially the stainless steel cleaner because it was such a simple recipe. The granite cleaner works well too. But if you find ONR works even better for daily use around the house, I may give it a try as well. I always had some reservations for using ONR and you went over them briefly in your video when you mentioned avoiding use around food-prep areas.

I use rinseless wash for a spruce up usually 2 - 3 days after my regular wash because after the 2nd day my daily driver it gets really dusty. Its easier and much faster than using the pressure washer because all i'm doing is taking out light dust then after it gets too dirty I do a regular wash. So I switch it up to maintain the shine.

You want a rinseless wash that has a bit of protection in it? See my video about McKee’s rinseless washes with Nick the owner: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqjNfp2ZgtJgmq8si=qgdIYQw91JUwK5Dw But no rinseless wash with protection will leave anything super long lasting. They’re not designed for ultimate protection. They are mainly cleaners.

Can you make IPA solutions at home? Do you always have to use it prior to ceramic coatings?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
I guess you found my other video explaining how to make your own IPA solution. Yes before applying a coating, you always do a panel prep spray. Either your own DIY IPA mix, but I prefer pre-mixed commercially available paint preps like this: amzn.to/3XBcxfM There's more to it than just using an IPA. See my full ceramic coating application tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaK0iomgraukgZI
@aperson1181 Жыл бұрын
@@PanTheOrganizer Yes, thank you. What are the advantages of using the commercial solution? Wouldn't the DIY be a good alternative and much cheaper? And it shouldn't strip the coating/paint?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
You don't have to worry about dilutions and mixing the product, and sometimes some brands put some other secret ingredients in their paint prep sprays to help prep the surface. Also, if you don't know what you're doing and don't dilute the IPA well, too high concentration of IPA could lead to clear coat swelling and other damages. But yes, if you know what you're doing, and do it right, a DIY IPA solution is always more economical.

Hey Pan, could I use the optimum in my bucket and the McKees in my pump sprayer? Would the results be the same, better, or worse? Thanks (for the rinse less wash)
@PanTheOrganizer6 ай бұрын
It's impossible to know the chemical compatibility of mixing two rinseless washes. Fill your bucket with water, do the appropriate dilution of the rinseless wash you're using (typically 0.5 oz for every gallon of water), then simply dunk your pump sprayer in the solution, it's the easy way to have the pump sprayer with the correct dilution.
@georgioschristopoulos33037 ай бұрын
Pan correct me if I am wrong, you said about the quick detailer diluted spray since we are using rinseless solution inside the bottle we are doing a waterless wash right? Also quick detailer spray without the rinseless solution inside is only for very light dusty car or an already clean car on a garage? Because if the car is on the road quick detailer is almost useless except the situation that you need to buff up again your vehicle after a few hours after a wash. Is a quick detailer with rinseless more powerful than a regular quick detailer spray?
@oskartuulik633 Жыл бұрын
Cool video! Could you do a video on what chemical is best for self-service wash. If I spary on the chemical, let it sit a minute and rinse off with pressure washer. Should I use rinsless wash solution, regular soap or precleaner? During winter its easier to occasionally rinse the car at wash than wait for warmer days to wash properly
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
The best would be a pre-wash with a snow foam like Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam. Here's a link: bit.ly/3fYlmii That will remove a good chunk of dirt and debris before you do the contact wash. You can use it in a foam cannon, or a foaming pump sprayer like this: bit.ly/3TBVZ4P

I am a big rinseless guy and i actually use a couple of these products regularly. For some reason I very much prefer ONR when diluting it heavier than usual. 2-3 ounces per gallon of ONR is extremely versatile so i tend to use ONR as my mixing rinseless. When it comes to strictly washing i think DIY Detail is really hard to beat. Yes, Absolute is awesome and its basically half the price per ounce. Usually that would matter to me but rinseless is SO cheap per use its really not on my radar. A gallon of DIY Detail lasts me 4-5 months of washing 3 cars once a week. It's insanely economical either way. One thing is with ONR please use distilled water. The mix sits better on the shelf and it is best practice to avoid water spots.

Thank you for this video! I am new to ONR and I am loving it, even around the house. I am, however, curious about some of the dilutions. My googling keeps telling me a 1:256 for a glass/window cleaner, for example. Why is it suggested here to be 1 : 21 (6oz/gallon)? Will that much extra product not make it harder to get a streak free finish? Thank you!

These are simply the dilutions recommended by the chemist, inventor of ONR, and owner of Optimum Polymer Technologies, Dr David Ghodoussi. Many have simply kept the 1:256 dilution for pretty much everything and it works quite well. You'll have to experiment.

So I have access to pretty clean water, like 1-2 TDS. Would 1-2 capfulls of rinseless wash be safe to put in a 40 gallon water tank to further soften it for use through an electric pressure washer? Or would it end up clogging or damaging the pressure washer?

If you have such a low TDS, you wouldn't even need the rinseless wash. I would just keep the water as is at that point. Or perhaps write to Optimum and ask if they think it would be a good idea.
