Good afternoon. Interesting description. It's a very good running shoe. Stay warm and safe, Loyd. Like to Run4adventure. A nice weekend for everyone.

Nice job out there, Loyd; you looked completely soaked 😂 comparing this shoe to the OG Speed and Rebel v2 is quite bold! Definitely peaks my interest when you measure these against arguably two of the best shoes of all time.

It was a pretty wet run! They did really reminded of that underfoot feel I got from the Rebel V2’s. I think the original Endorphin Speeds felt slightly quicker having a plated midsole but I was impressed with the Mach 6 👍

Loved the Mach 5, got 400 miles out of my pair. The exposed outsole only looks bad, the traction and actual durability wasn’t an issue

I'd love to see a head to head with the Mach 6 and Rebel 4. For me, the Rebel just accommodated my wide forefoot and splaying toes, I didn't even need to order the wide size. The mach 6 was far too tight. I could order the wider edition, but it only comes in one color, and it's the plainest of all colorways available for the Mach 6.

Still run in my Mach 4. They have hold up extremely well and I love them. Worries Mach 6 is to narrow in the toe box. Have to try them out.

Hoka really don't work for me but I see reviews online and they sound great so I keep buying them. They're just so narrow. Even the wide fit versions. Clifton 5 and 8, challenger 6;standard and wide fit. Tecton x2. Rincon 3. I've definitely given up on Hoka
@Run4Adventure6 ай бұрын
I totally agree Pete, Hoka’s width fit isn’t that wide at all. If you do have a lot of width to your foot shape they’re just not going to work 😞

Hi Loyd thanks for the video. May interest you to know that I had issues with my pair of Mach 6 to a point where I decided to use Hokas 30 day return policy and send them back. I ran 3 runs in them over a week to a total of 20 miles. After each run my knees ached for at least 24 hours and by the third run I could feel the first twinges of shin splints. I stopped running in them and ran all last week in my triumph 20’s and the pain in my knees and shins has gone. Now I had none of these problems in the Mach 5 so can only put it down to the new midsole in the 6 which I believe is just too soft for me. Shame as my first impressions were impressive but I’m sure if I continued to run in them then the problems would only get worse.

Running shoes are a personal thing Ian and what works for one might not work for another. It’s definitely a soft bouncy midsole on the Mach 6 so maybe that just didn’t work for you 🤔

Loyd, I do love your videos. From a safety perspective I do think an all dark blue outfit when running on the road (especially in those conditions) isn’t fair on drivers and doesn’t necessarily set the best example for others following you on here. I hope you take the feedback as intended, but running on the road needs more considerations around being visible than when running off road and is something worth pointing out to those viewing your videos. Tempted by this hoka, I’ve only ever had one pair of hokas before.
@Run4Adventure6 ай бұрын
At no point of the run was I actually on the road Chris, it was either pavement or cycle path. Also the camera makes the conditions look a lot darker than they actually were. I had hi viz on my shorts and jacket, I take running safety very seriously and have spoken about it on the channel several video but thanks for your concern 👍

Head to head please Lloyd with the New Balance Rebel V4. Trying to decide between these two, Current trainers are Rincons which I have had several pairs of. Tempted by the New Balance but ultimately want a fun, lively, light daily trainer. Which would you pick out of the two?

Never liked Hokas and have tried several of their trail shoes and a couple of road shoes too. I don't get the hype especially their reputation for being soft, bouncy and wide. They simply aren't. They are firm and narrow even in their wide versions. For example the Speedgoat 5 feels like running on two pieces of wood. If they have this one in a wide version it actually looks quite interesting. Especially when you say you prefer it over the Rebel V4...you have to do that comparison, I'm findning it hard to believe 😉
@Run4Adventure6 ай бұрын
I don’t think Hoka have ever had a reputation of being wide fitting running shoes! They’ve always been a narrow fitting brand and like I said in the video the Mach 6 is definitely narrow. I also wouldn’t call their midsole cushioning firm? Obviously a lot of brands have got softer over the last 4 or 5 years but when Hoka first came on the seen they were a lot softer than an other running shoes on the market. I’ve always found their shoes to be well cushioned and the Mach 6 did feel a bit more bouncy than the Rebel v4 👍🙂
@jansommerlund54976 ай бұрын
@@Run4Adventure Try and google "wide running shoes" 😉 Of course I can only speak for myself and how the trail running community is here in Denmark. And I'm a pretty big part of that. Many many runners use fx the Speedgoat because they are so wide and soft/bouncy....And thats simply not the reality. I will agree with you on the first models of the Speedgoat. They were really something different and firstmovers on the high stacks and soft midsoles.
@Run4Adventure6 ай бұрын
@@jansommerlund5497 That’s just Google, what do they know about running shoes! 😂 Obviously a lot of it comes down to personal foot shape. I worked in running retail for ten years and I was one of the first stockists of Hoka shoes in the Uk. I use to have lots of runners in store who said they had wide feet when really they didn’t. If you are genuinely wide in foot width HOKA’S are never going to work, even their width fit shoes aren’t really wide! However I have to disagree with the not bouncy part, a lot of their shoes are well cushioned. The world of running shoes is so much softer and bouncy these days, there’s way more deeply cushioned shoes to choose from and compare against but I still wouldn’t call Hoka shoes firm 🤷♂️
@edgonzalez325 ай бұрын
Their shoes just don’t work for you. This is why you ALWAYS need to go to a shop and try them for yourself at the end of the day. What works for one person is most likely not going to work for your foot/form/step etc.
@aristodiga826 ай бұрын
I remember the first shoe with a flared heel counter was Nike Pegasus 35, with the design attributed to the suggestion by Mo Farah when testing the prototype. Since then, other brands copied the design. So it is definitely not signature Hoka.

I meant it’s a signature feature of Hokas current running shoe line up 👍
