I bought these on sales from puma website for 87euros and I have done 820k so far. I confirm the super durability of the shoe, outsole, midsole and upper are still holding really well! Carbon plate offers stability. I wish they had a rocker geometry for smoother transitions but no regrets for buying them!

100% agree. Great topic, Fordy! I bought the black WTR version 2 months ago at startfitness. It was down to £120 and used your code so got it for £108 while it was £155 everywhere else. It was a bit snug first but got comfy after the second or third run. I just love running in this Puma when it’s wet. I would say that the Nike Winflow 10 is the most comfortable running shoe that I’ve ever worn and is the best for price, but that’s strictly on long runs. If we’re talking about across the board, the new balance propel v4 is perfect personally. It’s comfortable, goes on sale for under $100 pretty often and can be worn for just about everything. For me, I’d get two pairs of the Asics Magic Speed 2 Perfect for my speed runs, excellent breatheability, a carbon plate too plus it’s always on sale here too, with my size. Plus, I like the appearance of the shoe and it feels good every run. Tried three long distance speed runs and it felt like I was flying with minimal effort 😂 Update: ran for 120km and well, it performed perfectly fine, even on very wet days, the traction was very grippy Only major issue is stability on sharp cornering and the durability of the exposed midsole foam, well, minimal wear and tear from what I see, and I can expect the shoe to last for at least 5-6 more months minimum 🎉

100% agree on the Deviate Nitro 2. Bought them last year for 89 euros with a code. Did about 70% of my marathon training on them. From easy to speed work to long runs. They even work great for trailruns/races for me with the superb outsole. Also did a 60k obstacle run in them. Used them for almost 800kms, all great. Probably buy them again at some point.

Deviate Nitro 2's. I'm on my second pair and love them. The grip is good, they're comfy, they're fine going slow and also fine if you need to pick up the pace. I raced a trail 10k in them last summer as the course was dry and I wanted a fast shoe with a bit of grip, they're a great parkrun shoe too.

This shoe is the one I have landed on as the 'one' shoe that works for me. After years of different shoes for trail, fast road, slow road, long run, short run, I wanted to consolidate down to one or two shoes. I have run a road marathon and a 50k trail ultra in this shoe and it just works. Stocking up on them now and gradually removing the other 10 shoes out of the shoe room. Hoping Puma don't mess with the next revision too much!

I recently grabbed my second pair of Deviate Nitro 2. The Run 75 version were the equivalent of 65 pounds in Australia. My wife is onto her third pair. It's important to note too that it's not just a great shoe for the price, it just a great shoe. My wife is selling her Superblast as she prefers the Deviates for her marathon training along with her second pair of Endorphin Shift 3. I don't own the Superblast so I can't comment on that. And yes, the Deviates can basically do anything. As for best uppers, I'd nominate another Puma, the Velocity Nitro 2 and the Brooks Hyperion Max.

I got the Nitro 2s fairly early on. Fit and comfort is fantastic for me, speed is good, but they do not protect my legs as well as Triumph 21s I bagged for £93 from Running Point. The Deviate Nitro 2s are pretty quick and a fairly good weight, but not as quick as the first version I find (although heel lockdown/comfort was bad on them for me and many others). If I were to look for a cheap faster show now I think I would try the Deviate Nitro Elite (first version) which I think should be lighter, faster etc wit the same good grip (but less of it so less durability?). But overall yeah your choice is still a great one - loads of good quality shoe for the money.

I tried the Deviate Nitro 2 and they felt really comfortable at step in but I had a huge amount of heel slip and just couldn’t get a lock down even with a runners knot so had to return them. Saucony seem to work best for my foot shape. I think it’s so important to try on lots of different brands and be honest with yourself as to what feels best rather than go solely off reviews 👍

I bought a pair of Deviate Nitro 2 early November as a main training shoes for Half-marathon in I have in March (Cambridge). From day 1 it became the best and the most versatile running shoes I have. It is light, comfortable and the grip of the outsole is just perfect for wet, slippery surfaces during a winter in the UK. after 200K very little wear so far. Using for pretty much everything, easy runs,long runs, threshold, parkruns. Road, multi-terrain. For daily use I prefer these DN2 over Saucony's Endorphin Speed 3- and they look good too (mine are bright orange-sunset thing:)

Absolutely agree. One of my favourite shoes, just does it all and can cope with any weather conditions. Pumagrip is king! Going to order another pair but not sure if to get the WTR version or not.

I have the WTR version (next to the regular one), and even though it does add value for me (I hate having wet feet), it's only water repellent unlike the velocity 2, which has a gore-tex version. So it can handle quite a bit of rain, but steer clear of deep puddles.

Really want to get on with the DN2 but still find it too harsh. I get no roll through on my gait. It's ok on the treadmill but outside it's unforgiving and harsh. Probably only 30k in them now maybe they will get better when they break in more. Just got the Forever Run which I much prefer for daily running.

I got twelve running shoes right now and all of them got at least 100km ran so far and some are near 500km plus. I just recommend to my brother just today was either the Nike Structure 25 or the Adidas SolarGlide 6 for his needs of daily walking around , using at the gym and twice a week of light running. Both the Structure and SolarGlide have lots of discounts at this time , are extremely durable, can handle light trails, use them with safety in raining days and in my opinion are as great as a Gel-Nimbus 25 or Invincible 3. They are just not as soft ,but the comfort is as good.

Fully agree, this is a special shoe, got two pairs already. Even at 140 pounds it'd arguably still be the best shoe one can buy. I am a little perplexed though at where did startfitness find all those? Especially older versions like the sunset glow colourway, this thing cannot be found anywhere anymore (apart from the occasional small or huge size), so how come startfitness has almost all sizes, a whole year after this (very popular colourway) was released?! Any guesses, I am very curious!

Bought a pair, partly on your previous recommendation. They arrived yesterday, I am going for my first run in them in about 45 minutes! On foot, walking around the house, they feel very good indeed. Excited by the carbon plate - never owned a pair of shoe with this feature before. Will I instantly run at 2 hour marathon pace? I'll find out shortly. Seriously, even if they are completely hopeless to run in (don't believe for one minute that this will be the case) I have a reasonably priced, very cool looking pair of leisure shoes - and another pair of socks.

Spent £100 on Saucony Tempus. I don’t necessarily need stability shoes but they’re handy for me and these are soooo light and pretty responsive. Right now my money no object show is modest ish, ASICS Magic Speed 3 had the speed, lightness and plate but isn’t intimidating in lacking outsole or stability. 👍🏻😎

Also using the deviate nitro 2 for winter daily work. It’s a superb all rounder, but it’s on the lesser stable side of things, and I wouldn’t fancy to use out anywhere other than tarmac. But I also have the Adidas Boston 12, slightly more pricey at just over £100. It’s more stable and slightly more propulsive. Btw I got my nitro 2’s from start fitness for £84, tell them they owe you a fiver 😂

Ok, think the price on this shoe is awesome! Although I’ve just finished a steady run with a pick up at the finish with the Boston 12. Start Fitness have this for £125.90, Fordyruns brings this down to £113, that’s amazing value. I will say the foam took a small amount of time to bed in, but right now I think I’d spend the extra on the Adidas model. Fair play to SF on that Puma deal though! 🎉🙌🏻💥
