Due to previous injury history, I am quite sensitive to heel drop. From my experience, low drop, but not zero drop shoes are best for walking, no matter whether they are running shoes or other types of trainers. I can run from 4 to 8mm drop, but I can tell 4 to 6mm are the most comfortable for walking.

I love the Glycerin for travels! All black, good for walking and getting in a couple of runs when on vacation. Looks great with anything, too!

Great video Fordy as I am a walker/slow jogger. This time of year with holidays coming up it's always difficult to choose 2 pairs that can do everything including walking. My recent 2 choices for a trip to Austria were the Nike Peg Trail 4 and the New Balance 880 v12 GTX version. Keep up the good work 😊

I have an old pair of New Balance 860 that I retired a long time ago that I have retired from running a long time ago, however they refuse to die and I have since done many miles walking the dog etc. Good running (general purpose) running shoes I believe will outlast other trainers as these are designed for heavier use!

Asics Nimbus for definite but I'd also through Puma Deviate Nitro 2 in the mix as well. Took mine to Italy and di 2 x 5k and 14 miles of walking in them as well as general knocking around and they were perfect! Got them on a deal from Start Fitness for less than £60!

Absolutely. As someone who enjoys city breaks, my Asics Nimbus 24 have been all around London Amsterdam Vienna…supremely comfortable.

Really like the ASICS, very comfortable but too narrow for me, even in the wide fit. Shame as I liked how comfortable they were.

@fordyruns - I am a over pronator and I’m using Glycerin GTS 20 as my daily trainer. Would you suggest glycerin 21 over GTS coz I’m unable to find GTS at a good price compared to normal one?

I'm currently exploring the Asics line of products. Haven't been able to spring for what they're asking for a current Nimbus/Cumulus, but the Gel-Glyde 3 (re-release of a previous GT 1000) has been a nice relevation. Receiving the Gel-Kayano 28 tomorrow, can't wait to see what that's like. I walk/hike/do light trail runs at about 160+ km per month, so the right footwear is crucial.
