We flat tow a 2018 Lincoln MKX. We use the Air Force One braking system. Not having to set up a braking box every time is definitely the way to go. Congratulations guys! 🙂

Thanks... have the same baseplate and tow bar. We still use the Patriot brake unit as we have 2 toads and it is very simple to install in either. I would recommend locking pins for the tow bar to baseplate. Then no worry of the pin droping out or someone being funny. A couple other suggestions for those doing their own install; there is a wiring harness for the jeep that requires no splicing of the light wiring (has OEM plugs) and there is an adapter for the fuse box to make the OEM 12 volt outlet always on from switched (so no after market outlet needed).

We use air force one for our wrangler toad. No air compressor as it taps into brake booster and it modulates the brake. No adjustment needed. Couple of thoughts. Get a roadmaster tow defender rock guard screen from etrailer. Saves your jeep front paint. After you hook up just put the jeep in tow mode and push it to lock it in and you know it will roll. If alone you can check lights by turning on hazards in rv. If jeep lights flash all good. Finally get locks for your tow hitch on the rv and for the pins attaching to jeep. Safe travels

Great video and information, currently setting up our Wrangler for flat towing. One thing to note, if you have a bumper other than stock, finding a base plate to work is very difficult. We have a solution, assuming the new /aftermarket bumper is flat tow rated. Hope to have installation video soon. Love your Jeep Chris Bellofatto Your choice convinced us that is what we wanted

Great video, I don’t have a brake system for my two door wrangler as it doesn’t s not a must. I do have the same tow system and I just wanted to say that when I got mine, no one told me you Must Not Ever back up as it can severely damage the tow system and more. Might be a good thing to tell your audience. Thank you again.

Great video. I saw the RVI system at Hershey 2 years ago, really cool system. If we switch up toads i might go that route next time. I use the NSA ready brake now, it’s a surge braking system, don’t have to set it up every time. But it doesn’t have the monitoring like RVI.

Looks great if you have someone to help but if your traveling solo could be tricky. Also you can not Flat Tow a Electric Vehicle do to it's transfer case so your going to need a trailer. Great video. Happy Holidays.

Hi Chris. I like your new Wrangler. We flat tow ours, too. I use a different system but very similar. I want to point out something that is very important and can be dangerous. We back our Jeep up to lock the bars but it is very rare that both sides lock. It is very important to turn left and right after connecting everything to ensure both release latches actually drop and lock. My wife watches while I pull ahead to ensure they both drop. Ask me how I know about this! 😂

Thank you. We've noticed the same thing happening to us on occasion. Just like your wife I watch from behind the rv to make sure both sides engage. We haven't had any accidents but can only imagine what happened to you. Yikes!

We don't flat tow, but I was very interested to see your system and how it works. So after you go thru those steps with the jeep to get it in tow mode, does the transfer case stay in neutral & the gear selector in park ? Which leads to my next wonder, Do you have to go thru the same procedure to get it in drive mode ? Out of the 3 options you presented, I 100% agree that is the best option. We are gonna use option #4 lol...which is carry it...we are putting g a deck on our HDT and just carry the smart car behind the bunk (not an option for everyone) Cheers Guys 🥃🍷‼️

Yes to your first question. It's a little different with not as many steps to put it into drive mode. Having a HDT and carrying a smart care behind the cab is a great option. Hope you and your family are having a wonderful holiday season. Cheers!

It's a great system unfortunately we can't answer your questions because "The Hitch Man" installed everything for us.

Wish I had known about the Hitchman before I installed my Shadow Break system it took me a lot longer than the 2 hour install they advertised. I would not buy the tire sensor again. I had tried two sets over the years and both had connection issues even with an upgraded hub and upgraded antenna and also a major failure that resulted in a flat tire when a sensor seam. seperated. RVI did not appear happl but sent a valve extenders and a replacement sensor. Went back to my old Ezzytire dedicated system that let's you change the batteries instead of the RVI $100. 00+ replacement every year. RVI customer support is ok but they do have some attitude.

We have the blue ox toe system as well with the Patriot 3 breaking system. So my understanding is you use blue ox toe bar and face plate and just install the new breaking system. And if you don't mind, how much was that breaking system and how much to install? I'm like. You putting the breaking system in is kind of a pain. Thanks for the. Yes, you are correct with your first comment. The braking systems from RVI is $1,325.00 The company that installed ours charged us a little over $2,000. Your so very welcome.

We have the Blue Ox that you had previously, I prefer it because it does not integrate into any systems on our Jeep. It does take two or three minutes each set up and removal. Messing with the manufacturers original setup frightens me, especially Jeeps, they have enough problems.
