Well - that's a wash. Now fmca is going with AT&T at 12 or 25 Mbps. I should have looked before I signed up. 50bucks down the drain.

Sorry about that - I'll update the notes - we switched to Visible $30 / mo plan and it works on the Verizon network. Ask FMCA for a refund.

So this plan "truly" unlimited data plan for $49 a month is cheaper than my GUDP for $160 a month. if true, it seems like a great deal.

I would verify with FMCA as they have changed providers since the video. If you are paying $160 you should switch to Starlink for RV for $135.

Thank you for the information. I've been researching the data plans from multiple sources and it makes my head spin. We will traveling full time in a few months, and both work full time so we need a lot of data. I log in to a VPN for my job, not sure if that makes a difference. We also have cell plans through ATT and T Mobile but no separate data plan at this time. I stumbled across this FMCA (which has just switched from t mobile to at&t) plan and am highly considered this plan as long as I know it will work for my 8 hour a day job. We are also looking at the Pepwave modem that allows for multiple sim cards.

I have a question. If I sign up for the T-Mobile plan you recommend thru FMCA, I would like to place the SIM card in my Nighthawk M1 1100 Mobile router. However, T-Mobile says that it cannot be used in any other device. Aren’t you doing that? How would T-Mobile know it was not in their hotspot?
@RVIntoRetirement3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about the Nighthawk I think that is at&t only. I use the sim in a Pepwave modem and it works. They can tell what device it’s put in but it shouldn’t be restricted. Pepwave is authorized by T-Mobile

I know that moving the SIM card from the hotspot to another device is not "acceptable" to T-Mobile. I have also heard that moving the SIM can sometimes require coordination with the carrier. I assume you haven't had any issues. Are you aware of anyone else having problems with this skirting of T-Mobile's regulations?
@RVIntoRetirement2 жыл бұрын
I have not heard of TMobile not allowing it in fact I game them the IMEI number of the pepwave. Going on 2 years now
@BobCollins422 жыл бұрын
@@RVIntoRetirement Great to hear. That is not their public stance. I was just at a TMO store this week. The fact that they (TMO) sell 100 GB on their hotspot for $50 and 50 GB as a loose SIM, not to mention unlimited data on my phone for $35, tells us that they are not above playing games with data-to-device tie-ins. In a related story, I just watch a video where someone bought a VZ SIM for iPad plan and is successfully running the SIM in a 4G router like yours.

When I refer to Modems I should say Hotspot. The Pepwave is a cellular modem, what T-Mobile sends is a hotspot. They sent us a MiFi not sure what they are sending nowadays. Also I’ve been told FMCA has increased the membership price to $60 per year.

We are trying to figure out the best scenario for us. We both work remotely and while at home, use approximately 580GB monthly between Zoom meetings, working remotely in general, KZbinTV, etc. Of course at home we have 1.25TB so we never go over but we'd like to take our work on the road a couple months at a time but can't figure out the most reliable way. What do you do if there's no Tmobile service? Any, when it says 1 device per $49.99, is that 1 laptop or 1 TV, etc.? Thank you!
@RVIntoRetirement2 жыл бұрын
We use a Pepwave cellular modem that can hold multiple SIM cards and provides us with the speeds we need on the road. We talk about it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iabIiaKkr5tjmZo At one point we were using 3 different carriers in the Pepwave modem (ATT, Verizon & TMobile) TMobile was the only plan that had real unlimited data. One device mean they will send you one hotspot and you can connect multiple devices to the hotspot. We didn't find the hotspot acceptable for work purposes which is why we took the sim card out of it and put it in the Pepwave Modem.

I will need very reliable internet for my work while on the road and wonder if I should use AT&T or Verizon as a backup SIM. Do you think I need that? Also, which would you recommend if so - I think you mentioned you've had better luck with AT&T? Thank you for your response in advance!

Thank you for your comments. We do use another sim along with T-Mobile and that is the 100Gb plan from Verizon. If you are already a verify customer it’s $60 month or $80 for 150Gb. We hat Att in the past and dropped them - we did a video about why.
