Sailing SV Delos

Күн бұрын

We have one of the best sails in Maine so far! We’re on our way to a super quaint little town called Camden. After being out in some of the more remote Islands for a few months we are in desperate need of some fresh food and boat parts. The trees are changing color and we fall involve with this cute town. So much sailing history here! Brian meets some of the local wooden schooner captains and goes on a private tour of some pretty impressive boats.
Hope you enjoyed the episode! Much love from us! Kazza, Brian and little Sierra

I have been watching Delos and all of the great characters sailing on her for years. It just hit me who Brian reminds me of...Bob Vila! The early days of This Old House. 21:58-22:13 In his yellow rain slicker. Combined with years of seeing Brian's ability to tinker with and repair just about any mechanical issue. Love you guys, Hope all is well.

Superb. I have to say that interview you did on the schooner was excellent - you never once talked about yourself or butted in to the voices of the two men you were talking to. I learn't loads, was deeply involved with the story and you have risen greatly in my estimations! If only we coudl all interview like that! Thanks again for being the best thing on KZbin.

LOVE that. 25:05, Sierra pokes the lens with her finger, because it keeps staring at her; but she knows that's not good to do, so she shakes her head, telling herself; it's a no-no, don't do that. She's become the star of your show, and you know it.

Was watching today and it dawned on me how much this channel has matured. At the beginning it was the college kid. PARTY all the time... sun and bikinis and booze. Some where around south Africa was college graduation. Brazil and the Caribbean was someone in their 20s. Still lots of parties, but much more substance and thought. A wedding... a kid and this season was most definitely the 30s. Amazing to be able to experience the life of Delos may we live to see her grow to a ripe old age.

It just calms my soul to sit down and fill up with the gentle loving family that you've become. And I have to admit... that baby Nugget is such a joy to watch! She has a deep thinker in there that will be interesting to watch as she grows. Mom's looking a bit exhausted these days... hoping you are well, Kazza, and just reflecting the effects of trying to keep up with the little one. Looks like your days are numbered in the north so a Bahama adjustment may be just what the doctor orders! Y'all take care and keep us updated! Much love, guys! Lynn

They do that to save space in the harbor. Two boats in the space that one would normally take up. It can be good if you like your neighbor! In rough weather though your boat is banging against the dock and it's nowhere near as nice as being on a single Mooring.

The condensation is because you have poor airflow throughout the cabin, the moisture is from all of your breaths and the cooking and showering all adds to the condensation on the windows. you need better airflow, you need an evacuation fan or some kind of evaporator like you suggested Kasa. Example: For an office, the recommended ventilation rate is 20 cfm per person. The occupancy of a general office is one person per 80 to 150 sq. ft. An office is 40′ x 60′ or 2,4000 sq. ft. Occupancy = 2,400 sq. ft. / 150 sq. ft. per person = 16 people. Airflow = Q = 16 people x 20 cfm per person = 320 cfm Brian you got this!

I've followed your adventures all over the world. It is wonderful that you are discovering the rich sailing heritage of Maine. I've spent a week on the Grace Bailey. It was fantastic. We sailed through some tight spots that would have made me more than a little nervous at the helm. I've made multiple trips on the Stephen Taber in Rockland. Captain Noah runs a great schooner down there. Not only is the sailing adventure great on these Maine schooners, the food is unbelievable. The feasts that they prepare on a wooden stove is amazing. The lobster (soft shell shedders) on the beach is unlike anything I've had elsewhere.

I miss babs, and the early years. I love how you have managed to changed thing up. The Indian Ocean crossing then Madagascar and south Africa. You have a prospective I can't possible related with, I've traveled, even spent 6 months living in a VW van in Mexico, but you are of the People of the World. I would love to hear more about your prospective of the news and world at large. So you have no plans... PLEASE FOCUS your losing me I've been watching every week for years, you were posting in the south pacific when I first found you. As a juggler I found your fire spinning video from Thailand . From there its been every week. PLEASE FOCUS on anything, science and education, start planning a Home Schooling class, or politics of the world Good and Bad and Why, small communities why they work and what makes them great good or ok. I feel the creative drive slowly slipping away. maybe I just miss brady, and the craziness of the old days. Brian I think you would make one of the best science educators. Just pushing it in that direction a little more could help. If you just broke down how you get in to your projects, getting things apart how they work, and how you manage to get things back together. It is a wonder How you keep that boat going. Thank you for all your years of home videos.
