My favourite Carry On of them all. Harry H Corbett was brilliant here, and fitted into the Carry On team seamlessly in what would otherwise likely have been Sid's role. It feels like heresy to say it, but I think he played the character better than I can imagine Sid would have done (much as I loved Sid's performances). It's a pity Harry never did another one.

There's something very effective and scary in Angela Douglas' line early in the film where she says "There is something in those bushes!". I look out for it every time I watch as it gives me a shiver up my spine. That's great acting, and adds to the cleverly evoked mood of unease that permeates the film. :-)

These clips are great, but personally (very selfish, I know!) my favourite moments in the flim are Fenella Fielding saying "You've only had a thousand amps", and the whole Charles Hawtry (Dan Dan) scene. Oh, and the scene with John Pertwee... and every scene with Harry H Corbett and Joan Sims. Basically, I just need to buy the dvd.

Really funny movie great at Halloween and Christmas old school Britain. Harry Corbett and Kenneth had amazing chemistry, anyone know why Harry was only in this Carry On film and wasn't in more? They don't make movies like these anymore.

He wasn't a part of the team, Sid James had originally been cast as Inspector Sidney Bung but his theatre commitment went on longer than expected and he had to withdraw, Harry was brought in as his replacement and did just as well.

You can say that phrase to any British person in any country in the world and they’ll get it. I live in France and I’ve been introducing mes amis to the Carry Ons via video. I thought they’d find them too English (ie crass) but no they crack up. Screaming goes down best but Khyber gets plenty of laughs too.

It's interesting that while the Valeria character is clearly filling the "vampire" role in this comprehensive spoof of horror characters and situations, and displays all the characteristics of a sexy vampire, the worst she's actually seen to do is to smoulder smokily for DS Bung! :-)
