We never knew that this part of Europe had such incredible food. Honestly, Serbian food should be talked about the same way Italy is!
Yesterday we caught two trains and a ride in a local person's car to cross the Romanian border into Belgrade, Serbia. We've only got one full day here and we want to make the most of it so we have written a list and are taking ourselves on a DIY Serbian food tour in Belgrade, Serbia. (Beograd)
WE LOVE TRADITIONAL SERBIAN FOOD!

Balkan burek and turkish burek are really different, at least for me. Balkan burek is jusier and crispier and it has better cheese inside. Ayran and Jogurt are also different, ayran is very salty. For me best serbian Joghurt is balans and dukat

@@JordanandEmily @ I'm originally from the Belgrade's suburbs (across from Danube river) but all the fun in Serbia is "down south". "My northern part" is agricultural and boring, however, Novi Sad and Subotica are 'must' if you are into Austria-Hungarian architecture. There are numerous 'hidden jewels' spread around 'Voyvodina' (means: Dukedom) but you have to inquire at some 'tourist center' about it. In South Serbia, however, I can't even begin to list'em all - there are way too many attractions to even have time to see'em all!

@Leo Kralj @ Well, it all depends what you consider "good food"; 'Le Cordon Bleu' fancy or just wholesome homemade dishes.. You are aware that most BG restaurants have very small kitchens so most dishes are (pri)made by grannies living in the neighborhood - so restaurant food is really homemade food. There was a video on youtube of two Aussie young couples on 10 European countries 'food tour' and Serbia was #1 and Italy (surprisingly) #10 in their opinion.

But be careful , Serbs it mesana plata only once per month cause you wont need food for next two or three days. Its delicious. I am not sure for Belgrade but in smaller serbian towns they ask you do you want to bring home the rest of Plata cause it is imposible to eat it at once.

Fermented cabage leafes rolled and filled with minced meat, onions , and rice sometimes but majority is minced meat filling and also nice seasoning. It all melts in your mouth and it is very nice flavour don't miss sarma next time you come. Also karadjordjeva snicla is another delicacy dish i recomend to try. Legend says that when "ancient" people of Belgrade back then in 90's first time ever tried Bucko's pizza, they were so overwhelmed how crappy it tasted that they beg the chef to put some salad dressing on it so they can just finish a slice. But it was close to pubs and worked 24/7 so drunken youth of Belgrade embraced the Bucko's pizza with beef or chicken salad topping as part of basic survival kit for getting from pubs to Republic Square where one could eat some proper street food and from where all the night buses departed. So the legend was born. 😆Now it is a must visit landmark for KZbinrs. Nice video. Greetings from Belgrade.

Yes i live in Austria and because Serbia is an mainly Agriculture land the Food and in comunist days party is the only Things sshared by everybody. At thus time usual things we're not to get at markets. Everybody dependent of black market. So the solidarity between zur people was needed. (No coffee, no washing powder, no toilet paper, no Jeans no sportsshoes....on and on ) Therefore if somebodys neighbour of your Cousins friends Brother has what you been looking for, you directly get connected. If somebody puts an interest in between nobody could afford a pair of example Jeans anymore. Thats Why this people hold toghether like this. Have fun and visit Serbia there is lot of food to discover you never heard from. Cheers

In fact, Romanian recipes are known to be very tasty, they are traditional, made from organic products, bio, grown on the farm, etc., and I'm not talking about recipes just the normal food taste is like gold. In my opinion, the Romanian cuisine is better then others, because of the autentic food taste, try the cozonac, the micii, the boeuf salad, the cakes, the pies, the sarmales, the sour cream with mamaliga, .jams are verry strong in taste, pickles in a jar, murăturile, zacusca, eggplant salad, fish roe salad, etc. Is like african banana that s how romanian products taste, in comparation with the european banana. Imagine the chickens eats healthy, the cows, and the products are made in their gardens with no chimicals on them. As a romanian i say it.
