A friend of my father was really saddened when he was forced to shoot some fifteen year old kids in Germany during WW 2, thing is they were in uniform, armed to the teeth and full of fight and fanaticism, do people intent on using deadly force get a pass based on age, gender etc ? the short answer is no, training should prepare a solider as best as possible to engage a threat no matter who it is.
@edwardnigma65685 жыл бұрын
That doesnt change the fact that Federal Agencies and Actors are using targets like these to train. Why would they use targets that look like an average American civilian gun owner unless they were training specifically to face, or at least view, that demographic as an enemy? Because its politically incorrect to use targets that look like Mexican women and children crossing the border? Or targets that look like someone wearing a Burka for anonymity? No. They are using targets like these because they are getting our armed men and women used to the idea of shooting at the average American Citizen and you should be concerned not complicit.
@judgeholden67615 жыл бұрын
@@edwardnigma6568 I hate obnoxious politically motivated targets like presidents and shit but I think you have this completely wrong. The reason why targets of women and juveniles are included as a part of training isn't because that's who they expect them to kill the most or even to kill often, it's because they are the HARDEST for people to kill and they still might have to. Human civilization has always placed a higher value on the lives and safety of children and women (a privilege I have sadly yet to hear acknowledged by a feminist or even a woman once....strange). The entire reason why military/police started requiring human targets is because human resistance to shooting is fucking insaneeely powerful. A military survey found something like only 10% of soldiers that made contact in WW2 before this type of training even managed fired their weapons and less aimed them. They called the phenomenon trigger finger frostbite. Men's (perhaps condescending) pity of women/children and lack of willingness to hurt them in a combat sense in the overwhelming majority of the male population is well documented and understood..I can think of way too many examples to list...fuck if you study evolutionary biology, the reason given why women's faces change way less during puberty (feminine facial features are child-like features) and are hormonally enabled to cry easier in the same level as stress as men is to protect against violence through evolving features our brains recognize as childlike, innocent, non-threatening, and evoke pity/sympathy. As unlikely as it is that law enforcement / military (usually) will have a violent assault against them by women/children, they DO need to learn that if that happens to respond the same way they would with a man.

It is a great drill. I just had the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Marksmanship Team do it, down at T1G on Range-2. They did very well. However, not well enough to go into the shoot house with live ammo (at least not all of them). It is a bar to set for yourself. Aim for a score of 85, then 90, then 95. Try to always stay above 95%. Shots need to be scored after each stage to identify which skill sets need attention in training. Score after when qualing or when shooting with multiple people. Run this drill several times scoring each stage, then run a final drill to check score/ progress. Good to see solid USMC content.

Surely sight alignment is very critical when using any firearm. But I find that firing for effect with a "pistol" is more challenging due to three things ( holding the weapon steady, the firmness of the grip, breathing and trigger application. take care. peace.

Awesome drill, but I think a gut shot is a good shot notwithstanding your point system, I understand, but most lbe wearers will have plates, so with that in mind, I think gut shot is a viable choice, what do you think
@aleksfoxtrot80447 жыл бұрын
evan marks when trying to stop a threat that is actively seeking to destroy you a gut shot is not good at all. a human can live HOURS after a shot to the gut with no medical attention. someone intent on winning the fight may not give up because they are morally wounded. a human body can function for 17 seconds after shot directly into the heart. so you may have to continue to fight an attacker after you've already "killed" him. the only way to stop an agreeable immediately in his tracks is a well placed shot into the triangle on her face, some targets have a "T". that is the "off switch" they will drop dead, function over. it's an EXTREMELY hard shot to make even at close range when a target is on the move.
@TacticalRifleman7 жыл бұрын
evan marks A gut shot is a great “Mobility Kill” and is taught by many LE agencies as a way to keep an armed opponent from maneuvering on your position or escaping. However, it takes a while for a gut shot victim to bleed out. For that reason, when teaching drills for CQB, we focus on upper thoracic shots and finishing with a well placed shot to the brain stem. Thanks for watching, and keep the comments coming, TR.
