Your review really saved me from an all nighter of endless research. Thanks for your time. Going with the cheaper option for now if the little kiddo enjoys it enough I'll cough up for the more expensive option.

Glad I could help! Update after a year of use: My son is almost 5 and rides with me still on longer rides. (Shorter ones he rides his balance bike) I usually don’t use the handlebars anymore as it’s just quicker to setup that way.

that is one nice looking bike. forget about the front mounted child seats, i need to get a bike for my self. hahaha

Definitely! I need to get Sarah a bike as well. Then get her to ride it!

Good video. Helped me figure out you can widen the bracket. Took my daughter on it today and she kept sliding back. Hopefully widening it works. Thanks!
@FunsizedAdventures Жыл бұрын
Adjusting that hidden bolt under the seat is definitely the key to stopping the sliding. Thanks for watching!

Just looking for something similar for Shotgun Pro option... just to avoid put something in attached to the frame.

I haven’t seen any budget brand versions of that one yet. Thanks for the comment! Sorry I don’t have an answer for you.

How does the seat do with balance? In other words when your kid from shifts one way or another, does it handle that better then the ride behind seats?
@FunsizedAdventures Жыл бұрын
Much better! With the child behind seat my kids would always randomly try to lean way over and look at the ground which in turn would pull us both out into traffic. 🤣 With this, Miles has tried to suddenly grab my front brake though.

*can you do backyard jumps with the child on there? 😅😅*

I’ve seen it done but I’m not sure if I want to sleep on the couch bad enough to try. 🤣

Do you have to spread your knees out when you cycle ? I am using a weeride front seat and its a bit wide so I do that and I am looking for a different solution.
@FunsizedAdventures4 ай бұрын
As long as my seat is high enough that my knees aren’t coming up too far. I haven’t had a problem having to widen them. Lately, as my son is getting bigger, my issue tends to be him randomly standing up on the pegs and nearly smashing my face with his helmet. 🤣

What's the weight limit on these clones?

The Amazon listing doesn’t state anything official. My 4 and a half year old rides on it all the time with no issues and like I show in the video I’ve tested it with my 11 year old. 🤣 I believe you’ll run into issues with their size before their weight. Also, having used it for a year here’s an update. The rubber straps that go over the feet have broken because my son loves to really wedge his feet in there. It still works great with just the foot pegs though. Also, the handlebars still work well but I often don’t use them and just have him hold my bars. It just makes the install quicker as I usually take it off when I’m riding alone.

Could this be used on a road bike in your opinion?
@FunsizedAdventures3 ай бұрын
From the part that sits on your top tube to the bolt that goes below your down tube is only 7.5 inches. I have a feeling that a road bike frame would be bigger than that but you could always measure your frame to check. I hope that helps!
@literailly Жыл бұрын
Do these (name brand or copycat) work well if your cables run on the side of your top tube instead of on the bottom? I have a WeeRide, and although it works, there is some interference with the cables (e.g., if I steer too hard, my brakes get applied 😅)
@FunsizedAdventures Жыл бұрын
Probably not unfortunately. Since they are held in place by squeezing the sides of the frame. Sorry.

@@FunsizedAdventures good to know. Maybe I can make a spacer to get by. We have two littles now that I'd like to take riding and only one seat!
@FunsizedAdventures Жыл бұрын
On the Amazon listing for this product there’s a picture a customer shared of a little spacer the made because their cables were on the top of their top tube. Maybe something similar would work for you.

Hey if you don’t mind could you please tell me the height and weight of your child? My daughter is 4 years old and pretty tall I’ve been trying to find something inexpensive that works being that my bike only costs about $250
@FunsizedAdventures7 ай бұрын
He was about 40 lbs and just over 3’ tall at the time I made this video. Over the winter he had a growth spurt and doesn’t fit that well anymore. He gets tired of his legs being crunched up and lets them hang which puts them in the way of my legs. I hope that helps!
@sirsmalls45657 ай бұрын
@@FunsizedAdventures thanks for the quick reply. Seems like she’ll be too tall for it as well. Have you found any other seats that have adjustable legs on them?
@FunsizedAdventures7 ай бұрын
No, not yet. Depending on the size of your bike frame, there’s not much room for extending anyway without their toes hitting the front wheel when you turn.
@estebanchristian2566 ай бұрын
Does it scratch the bike frame ?
@FunsizedAdventures6 ай бұрын
No, it has a rubbery plastic on the main piece. You do need to be careful with the bolt that the pegs attach to. That’s why I wrapped the center of it in duct tape to prevent it from touching the frame. Thanks for the comment!

My bike (used) was $200, so hard to justify the $135 haha
@FunsizedAdventures Жыл бұрын
Definitely! I’m sure it’s worth it but at the same time that price tag just isn’t feasible for most families with little kids.
