We visited Thailand 5 weeks ago and bought the 15 Days AIS unlimited package in the arrival hall. It worked perfect in Bangkok and Koh Samui. We always had 5G.

But 599 Plan doesn't have unlimited but 30G data right? I want unlimited data and hence feels more inclined towards True Move 699 plan but then it won't have as smooth coverage as AIS

Best is not to buy a tourist Sim. Buy a regular Sim at 7/11 from true. It's 150 to 350 Baht. With 350 the data was so fast that I could run a smart tv with it.

American here. I have At&t. I went to the AIS kiosk. I tried to install it but my phone denied the SIM card. You need to unlock the phone first before you can install a foreign SIM card.
