BEST SIM RACING DLC EVER??? -- Spirit of Le Mans -- Project CARS 2

Testing out what may be the best DLC pack ever released for a racing sim... the Spirit of Le Mans Pack for Project CARS 2.
This DLC features 9 Le Mans themed cars and the 1971 version of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Circuit with the full Mulsanne Straight!
Today I will take on the '71 Le Mans track with a period correct race of 70's Prototypes. I am driving the 1971 Team Penske Sunoco Ferrari 512 M and will try to take it to the dominant Porsche 917K and 917LH cars!

indycarfangreg1 I wouldn't get your hopes up sadly.I think it would be difficult to find 8 cars that are legends of Indy that SMS have the license and scanning data available for as well as the fact that Indy hasn't had a layout change so they would have to either put bricks in or just name a year.

I'd love to see another game go through Indy's history like Indy 500 Evolution does. Right now though, I don't see this happening. The three vintage Indycars we have right now really don't match each other all that well in terms of performance.

Love this version… The wide sweeping blind Dunlop Curve, under of the Dunlop Bridge, straight downhill to the Esses..... an un-reprofiled Tertre Rouge....an unbroken Mulsanne Straight....3.2 miles long..... over the crest, and gearing down for an un-reprofiled Mulsanne Corner....don’t forget that sandbank! Then comes the very fast slight dogleg curves leading up to the “kink” and main corner at Indianapolis (so named because it was originally paved with bricks)...a short straight to Arnage....a sandbank waiting there too.... then the wicked-fast rolling curves, with no turnoff to the modern Porsche Curves in sight, it’s downhill to the blind, fast, tricky, and very dangerous S-curve at Maison Blanche (White House).... out of “Maison”, it’s downhill to the Ford Chicane, and onto the Pit Straight.....UNBELIEVABLE LAYOUT! Untill 1969, drivers run across the track to their cars in the Start. 1970, cars started like 1969 but drivers already seated in their cars with engines off. Since 1971, rolling start!! That's one of the reasons, the movie Le Mans, it's so special!!

My all time favourite film, my all time favourite Le Mans era. I went to the Le Mans 24hr in 2009 and visited Le Mans on our family holiday last week (not during the race), just to visit Mulsanne not-so-straight. And now I've just had an email telling me Project Cars 2 Deluxe Edition (including all DLC such as the Le Mans pack).... for just £18 with my membership. I've watched your video (nice touch with the music - super nostalgic!) and now I'm downloading the game.

David Hobbs discussed the 512 M quite a bit in his new autobiography. With extensive input from Mark Donohue it was tweaked and massaged to the nth degree (in typical Penske fashion) to the point it was an absolute weapon, easily a match for the 917s, never mind the other 512s. If you read the reports for the races it entered, Hobbs and Donohue had a realistic shot at winning all of them, were it not for some terrible (rather freakishly so in some instances) luck.

PMGF They're have an abundance of GT cars from multiple disaplines such as pretty much all current GT3 cars, GT4, GT5 and even some of the GT1 cars like the CLK GTR LM, F1 Long Tail and a porsche 911 GT1. Check the full car lost on KZbin.

Hey Joe I do know, I have the game and love it! was just talking about the video, because they have the Ford GT40 from the late 60's, that would go nicely with these cars since they seemed to race for ages. I’d disagree, as far as the classic content goes, I’m stunned and have heaps of ideas, but as for the modern content... I don’t like how we received the R18 Fuji car. The biggest flaw is the playback value, I was looking forward to racing the Porsche 919 in career mode and and I couldn’t because like all the new modern cars they’re all in ‘LMP1 2016’ class and I tried I made it to the team selection part and I could only use ‘LMP1’ which to me is a real let down, because we only get to use it in custom race and in the ‘Le Man experience’ in the invitational events, if there were custom championships I’d be a lot happier and might even agree with you. Overall it’s still a good DLC but it has so much more potential.

Are you going to try indy with more cars? I ran Daytona with the 32 cars on OG Xbox One and it is significantly better than before, maybe not perfect but I would recommend trying out a full indy grid if you get the chance

JMJRulz problem is the original consoles of this gemeration have been struggling to support large grids of opponents without it impacted the physics, though it does look like (on ovals at least) they have improved upon the issue quite a bit

You can map a button to cycle the HUD. It defaults to different views, sometimes. Hit the button and you can get your balloons back :)

14:20-14:40 - I suspect you could turn the aggressiveness to 0%, and those PC2 AI would still hit you and each other all the time. Specially at Le Mans, and this is why I gave up running 24h on that. 23:55-24:20 - Not your problem at all, replay is broken since PC1. So, this mod looks amazing, like everything in PC, but I rather watch some beautiful videos of it in YT and stay always from the gameplay - plus save my money -- because it is so frustrating. Shame, the potential is there, but it is been there for some year already.

I wasn’t to happy with the content of this DLC as we have plenty of Ferrari’s and Porsche’s. Plus I was hoping for Le Mans late 70s- early mid 80s for all the Gr.4, Gr.5, Gr.6 and Group C cars. I was also hoping for new some manufacturers and some cars to round out the Gr.5-Gr.6 and Gr. C However I just did a race on the Historic Le Mans at night with light fog in one of the new Ferrari’s . I had Vintage Prototype B and Vintage Touring A on the track at the same time. In my cockpit in VR with some Butt Kickers....holy crap was it immersive. Im so impressed with the Historic Le Mans track. Man what an experience....I’m totally satisfied with this DLC. Now if they’d give us a custom grid feature I’d probably never play any other sim again. It would be pCars 2 for life.

David Land yeah but with PC think about this, current, laser scanned, 2018 version of IndyCars. None of this outdated console Pcars2 stuff. They also just released a laser scanned version of Detroit. iRacing is pretty great.

DoubleIntruder I’m pretty sure iRacing is the last company to lie about something like laser scanning when they post pics of the equipment and point data from the tracks a lot. I think it’s fine graphics wise. Don’t want to be like PC2 and put everything into graphics and have it be kinda shitty to drive and buggy. You’re also forgetting it’s one of the only up to date NASCAR and dirt oval sims. Nothing else comes close to the oval side of things. Road side you have like 6 million sims to choose from. Also the only game to have a fairly accurate 2018 INDYCAR and Belle Isle

I want to like Pcars2. I really do. I fire it up every few weeks or so and it just never inspires me. Assetto Corsa, Automobilista, iRacing, and rFactor2 all give me much more information. In Pcars2 I the front tires just feel vague no matter what I do. I will say though. Best version of Long Beach ever. In any sim. Period.

After been driving iRacing for 2 years, just cant stand to watch these racing games..... they are not racing sims. They are games. Boy they make overtakings and contacts that would cost you the race in iRacing.

He's driving against AI. I drove iRacing since the Beta in 2017. They're all games. There are no sims available for the public. I haven't driven anything that feels like the real thing, yet. You'd be surprised how close PCars2 gets to it, minus the godforsaken understeer dialed into these default setups. The "sims" always lack in grip. It goes back to Dave Kaemmer and how hard he made GPL. Everyone else has followed suit, since.

0:28 hahaha historically correct. you know nothing about le mans. first the 917k never ever raced with the Ferrari 512 m, they a mix between 1970 and 1971, and where are the matras, lolas and alfas etc. you cant have a lemans race with only Porsche and Ferrari

The 917K and 512M did race each other and at Le Mans in 1971. 917K's were 1st and 2nd, the winner being driven by Marko and Van Lennep. The 512M entered by NART was 3rd. 917LH's were also entered but they all retired. Also Alfa did not race at Le Mans in 1971.
