Man, I love that little anecdote at the start, Noob. But it made me wanna cry, because my dad passed in 2008 when I was 18, and he loved race cars, always watching NASCAR & F1 every weekend growing up, and I would've loved to share with him my burgeoning love of Sim Racing, and I know he would've loved to Sin race at even my broke, used wheel level. I'm so happy for you to have got that experience with your Dad though, just a bit jealous. ❤️

Nice, I totally agree with mounting the screens off the motion rig, as not only does it stop any failure of the screens, as they are not designed for these types of vibrations, but the horizon also stays were it should in the real world, as your neck and eyes will filter out most of the cars vertical movements. Can also recommend enclosing the area around the screens with blackout panels, which really improves immersion. Also recommend trying a active belt system.

Best 6DOF motion simulator is by far the MotionXP 6DOF PRIME for half the price of the QUBIC but with much more motion ranges, silence and capabilities…..I finally bought one after evaluating at least 10 brands and companies including Motion System and QUBIC in Poland, Edge 6D in Netherland etc…..Only draw back, the PRIME is a more or less DIY platform, kind of IKEA for gamers….with huge tutorials elements and help from the installed park of users.

What BS is this? Every racing motion sim player says that motion kills their times and many of them have good 6dof systems. This smacks of him being paid off or feeling in debt because of what you got or wanting to keep a relationship going. This is so off of what every other motion sim person says that he is almost 100% selling a pitch.

I follow you for a long time, and your basement always mesmerized me with so many cool toys... I have quiet a nice configuration myself after years of upgrades, but you really achieved any enthousiast simer's dream there. Also, you must have a really great wife that let you spend so much into it. Mine is litterally having anxiety crysis everytime I'm in front of the screen, specially when I wear my G2 . So even if I had the will to build such a setup, I'd have to sacrifice my familly over it, which is a no go... I'm jealous and admirative at the same time ! Living the dream and getting paid for it is quiet an achievement. Keep making us dream ! o7

Very nice description of your setup. VR would of course add to the immersion. For anyone thinking of going the motion system route, in VR, yaw, surge and sway are not as important as fundamental forces, as they can be simulated with pitch and roll movement. Not 100% perfect of course, since you could start to feel the angles at large forces, but still, they will be quite convincing. So pitch, roll and heave are the tree most important ones, especially for flight simulation, where heave is very important.

I also have a pretty high end motion system not quite at this level… but my only beef with this is not utilizing 8020 profile for adjustments on the cockpit. There are a lot of things you can add to this like seat belt tighteners and g force seats. Also shifters come on a huge range of options so profile gives you that flexibility. Other then that, this thing is awesome!

Hello Noobifier, Thank you for these great videos. They are greatly appreciated. I have a question, that I cant seem to find much about with sim rigs\cockpits. I am in the planning phase of building myself a sim racing rig. I am hoping to be able to build a system that can be used by my son as well, with minimal effort. Seat sliders, pedal sliders are good, but how would I be able to do a seat and pedal height adjustment 'on-the-fly'. Would you have any suggestions for products? My rig will be a custom built alu extrusion rig.

Just a question.. this rig looks insanely beefy.. will it last years and years of use? Or are there expensive parts that are going to wear out and break and cost lots to replace/fix? The actuators look damn heavy duty.. so I am hoping given the high cost and the heavy duty.. well everything, this thing should last a decade or longer with proper care. I assume some level of adding oil from time to time may be needed? The other question is.. does the software/drivers that it comes with work in a lot of games? Me in particular DCS, racing sims (a few of them) and Star Citizen. How do they know how to move.. is it game data fed to the drivers to move it.. thus games have to support it?
@NOOBIFIER1337
@NOOBIFIER1337 10 ай бұрын
The system is overbuilt. Actuators can be replaced for 1k if they do fail due to extreme use. The software supports a list of 100 game titles including MSFS and DCS. Star Citizen is years away from supporting motion and I am a CAN/USA distributor for this piece of equipment. I would be happy to speak in discord with you about it.

Electric. Anything else would require pumps, lines, compressors and be loud or hot.

My sim has a 'Spike filter' built in to stop it from hurting me during crashes etc - does the Qubic system come with something similar?

Of course. It will give you 100% if you like, until the system detects an action that might hurt you or it.

@@NOOBIFIER1337 Nice, I figured so for the price. It has also saved me more then once :-). I actually moved away from a Stewart Platform a few years ago ( link if interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5fLlmykqa2WldE ) for a faster more powerful 3 DOF (up to 500mm Sec - 1.8KW servo motors) were roll, pitch and short heave/surge/sway are managed by the 3DOF and long sway, surge and heave are manage by G systems. If interested I have attached a link to a full G system seat that I built to test out ideas ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6PQhod4lLCGg5o ). All the best, your setup with the two systems looks great!

@@NOOBIFIER1337 Incorrect. A far superior 6DOF can be had for a fraction of the price with much greater range and about 20k left over to spend on other things. This is just an ad. I get it.

@@NOOBIFIER1337 I'm not saying that this isn't obtainable for anyone, they obviously wouldn't have spent all the money in R&D and manufacturing this product if there wasn't a market for it, I'm just saying that owing a rig like this is unobtainable for 99% of the real world. Not hate here from me, I'd love to have a rig like this one day, just can't justify spending that much on an already out of control spending habit like most of us have in the Sim world. If I bought this rig I'd have to make sure I could attach a twin sized mattress to it as I'd have to live in it after my wife divorced me and took the house. 🤣
