Interesting video, like your approach to pushing technology and how you dont mess about by getting feedback from your friend. A belt harness is something you should consider as many have found these to work well with motion/tactile systems. Someday I would like to chat with you about custom tactile effects and hardware integration. Over the last few years small groups of people in the community have been doing their own d.i.y working towards a level of tactile immersion that goes beyond what any company sells or includes with motion based systems. I hope to soon showcase my own build that will demonstrate, my ideas for a tactile based motion. Looking at new ways to incorporate multi-dimensional haptic effects over the body and by combining both telemetry generated tone generation with audio based tactile sensations. How these can also be used in combination with the games/sims audio to further enrichen that immersion and connection with your input devices with what you see/feel/hear. Look forward to your future videos....

After doing some looking around, which included the DOF Reality H and P series, I came across your videos and the Qubic. The one thing you didn't mention in this video, that you did with the 220 and the S25, and the only one to have mentioned it at all in any video I have seen, is the best location for it, due to vibrations. Does the CH2 minimize any of this using the 220? You mentioned these units should not be used in Condo's due to this. (Your other videos) (You actually flew over my condo in this video flying in TO). I have always wanted a motion setup for flight sim, but didn't have space till now. I also never thought about vibrations using such a thing in a condo, until now. Would the use of Vibration Absorption and Dampening Pads be helpful under the unit, or they not be enough for such a rig as the 220 and CH2?

You run the risk of hurting your relationship with your neighbours. You can run the settings lower to minimize this but there is no guarantee
@Beattle19737 ай бұрын
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Well, having said that, I can see neighbours below me having an issue, however, I do not have any below me. I would only have 1 neighbour, on one side of my unit. Its a unique situation which would need more explaining, which I won't do here. However, you mention lowering settings, but, how much would that reduce the "immersion" one gets from installing one of these beautiful units, and by how much?

What do real-life professional racing drivers say about these things (the traction loss part)? It seems pros settle for 3dof rather than 6dof? They seem mostly interested in feeling what the suspensiopn is doinng, and not so interested in trying to simulate all of the movements and g-force the car creates. Daniel Morad for example use 3dof only and swear by it. The reason I ask is that adding traction loss, going from 3dof to 6dof, can triple the price of the motion platform.

@TheNOOBIFIER1337 for flight simulation exclusively, would you prefer this combination or the S25/625?
@NOOBIFIER13376 ай бұрын
It’s compact form is really good, plus because you can modify the payload attached, it’s easier to make any type of aircraft. The S25 is the frame that the chair and controllers are on which means you are the one making the mounts and extras. Hope this helps.
@DS521166 ай бұрын
@@NOOBIFIER1337that does help. Sounds like logistically the CH2 is more compact, and much better to mount a modular MonsterTech setup on. What about for motion performance? The S25 has 4x the actuator length, but slower impulse as you call it. For flight do you think extra movement distance is more important? You’ve also mentioned the amount of motion is less important than the quickness of motion - which leads me to think you might find the CH2 platform the overall bigger pick, even for flight?

Because the CH2 is plugged into the QS220, I don’t know or at least I wouldn’t expect them to both work at the same time. Just based on how data is processed. QS220 behaves differently when CH2 is attached as they work together. I hope that helped and I am prepared to discuss it further with you if you like just contact me

@NOOBIFIER1337 Жыл бұрын
Some cheap systems move slowly and it wont make you feel like you are immersed
@Mr_Latte_UK Жыл бұрын
The brain/body needs "stand out" cues to represent the activity of certain sensations to enhance the immersion factor. Having either a movement/tacitle sensation or both combined as feedback lets you feel more connected to the cars activity or the sims physics. Motion systems cannot achieve sustained G but it is possible to apply high wattages with usage of ultra-low frequencies via the more advanced/capable tactile options. These need *(custom made effects) to generate felt vibrations for specific effects scenarios/activity. Yet it is possible to have these apply different characteristics via usage of different frequencies and body regions for the generated felt sensations.

My understanding is that without a proper G-Seat, these types of motion devices do not make much sense. When you're in a long, long corner, you should feel a sustained force pressing your thigh and part of your back into the seat. This platform only gives you sudden snappy force and that's it. G-Seat kind of solves this by using acctuators that press appropriate parts of your body depending on whether the vehicle is accelerating, decelerating, turning or a combination of forces. In my opinion, it is NOT even important with WHAT force these actuators will act on you, but that they will do it ACCORDING to the situation presented by the simulator. What's here is of course cool and everything, but I think this is only for the first wow. Over time, this would probably start to expose more and more shortcomings in the vehicle's feel. Ofcourse it is only my opinion and I don't expect anyone will agree with it :)
