Honestly as a chef i can do it faster with a proper Sharp knife, but the mandolin is pretty decent.

@@GoodMorningSunshine3225 itd be best for volume, a handful of potatoes a properly sharp knife yeah a chef would be fine, but if youre prepping like 100s of potatoes the mandolin would be the way to go takes the human error out of the equation entirely

Mandolin is good for older people, with limited or reduced motor functions in their hands. I'd say the meat slicer is... scary.

Professional kitchens and chefs actually use the mandolin if they need to prep large quantities of ingredients that have to be consistent, that fucking meat slicer is a gimmick

Any time you're going to cut meat into thin slices, always put it in the freezer for like 15 minutes to firm it up. Makes it so much easier when it's not wobbling around

I have a dark past with a mandolin I was cutting cucumbers since I was making pickles and I was talking to my dad about something wasn’t paying attention and opened a big gash in the tip of my index finger in my right hand and to add insult to injury it went through the nail had to get 3-4 stitches that was an embarrassing trip to urgent care 😅
