OMG, you swallowed that one at :49 🤣 Good video though. I’m running a Z1 coil spring kit in a Fox Rhythm 36 and I love it! I literally can’t find anything that I don’t like about it. It’s a good match for the 2024 X2 in the rear. With this setup, it surprises me, how much speed I’m able to carry, everywhere.

Good comparison. I just bought the DIamond D1, + Topaz combo, and am loving it for all of the same reasons. I am honestly surprised by how much more traction I am getting on high speed turns and going over high-speed small bumps.

I have a dvo onyx D1 and looking to run a coil rearshock. Aside from looks, Which one would you run on your bike? my two choices are the super delux ultimate coil or the dvo jade x coil. I'm leaning towards the rockshock because is more adjustable like the dvo D1 fork but I would.like to hear your thought, fire away....

I recently tested the new Rockshox coil with hydraulic bottom out and it was fantastic. I am now running it on my Firebird!

Hey, nice video! Im planing to convert my Fox38 (180mm) with Vorsprung Smashpot coil. Its an Nicolai Emtb heavy and im tall/heavy. My system weight about 140kg easy. Vorsprung suggests 60lb spring. Is that coil set up good for heavy riders? What spring rate I should pick, maybe 65lb, being 180mm of travel. In general I run EXT era v2 180mm and Fox38 grip2, both works well, I just want completely remove small bumps :)) Thanks in advance.
@LoamRoamer Жыл бұрын
Vorsprung is usually very good, make sure you added about 15lbs to your weight for the e-bike variance, and use the spring rate at firm. likely 65 as you point out. It is very good for heavy riders!

Ride there plenty. I prefer the Onyx there, but a 36 works fine. The 38 or Zen is cool guy stuff unless you send very big stuff.

@@LoamRoamer running an Ohlins RXF38 and for me it was noticeably better than FOX 38 or Zeb, has amazing midstroke and doesnt hit a wall of progression. Gives up the slightest slower speed small bump, but the harder its pushed it loves it. Havent tried DVO since the original diamond (blew through travel) but have been impressed with any of their rear shocks ive tried.

you can put a smashpot in a diamond though. so i feel like its not quite an apples to apples comparison

I hear you, but the fact that the DVO feels better without one than a Fox with one is the key point of my message.

How much OTT did you have on the DVO? I'm running 130psi 160mm and 8 full turns of OTT. That give me 32mm of sag.

at a 60/inch lb spring rate and shooting off from an assumption that you look to be 175lbs at most, you are over sprung. Plus the trail you are running appear to be not suited for the spring rate that you are running.

I have a 2021 stumpjumper. At 30 sag on rear I am using about 120mm travel. On the front at most recommended sag of 28 mm and no volume spacers I am only using 100mm of 140 at 78 psi. Would you go down in preasure and over recommended sag or would you leave it as is. Western pa slow tight trails. Rocks roots short up and down. I don't thing I am hanging of the back to much??? Thanks for the great videos
@LoamRoamer3 жыл бұрын
Sag is simply a starting point. You want to bracket until the bike feels best. If you watch my video on setting up for a light rider I describe bracketing there, follow that process for setup. If that means 40% sag and it rides great, all good.
