You're making one big mistake about the JBL 5.0! The JBL is NOT a 5.0.2 channel soundbar and the "speakers" on-top are NO Atmos speakers, these are passive radiators and not loudspeakers. The Atmos height channels are processed as a front projection (virtual Atmos/Multibeam)

You hear much more details on Bose even through the sample you shared... JBL and Sonos sounds really nice, although it is not a true sound. I think Bose is a no brainer if you also add a bass module, but this will come under a completely different price tag...

At the pricepoint for these three where the JBL is at least $100 less expensive than the other two (at the time of this writing), the JBL is a no brainer. Looking forward to hearing it very soon.

As a guy who owns both Bose SB300 and Sonos Beam, let me tell you that this guy is either paid by JBL or simply a bass head. I also own Bose SB900. I don't own JBL 5.0 but I have tested it at the store while I was deciding between them. Sonos has better midrange than Bose, so it sounds the best while playing music. Also it has more bass than Bose. However this better midrange is sometimes a negative point while watching movies, vocals in Sonos sound thick and less clear than Bose. Bose doesn't have more treble. It just sounds more clear. Its the best for vocals and dialogues. In short: Sonos: The best for music. Bose: The best for movies. JBL: Doesn't excel in either one, but its a good allrounder. Note that JBL has more bass than both Bose and Sonos. But bass is not everything plus its not subwoofer level bass. Just get Bose or Sonos and add their respective subwoofer module.

Thanks alot great soundtest and an awesome review!!! I love the JBL sound the most. The treble and bass are good seperated and the sound is wider than the bose and beam. Beam is warmer. But JBL the winner for me. Jbl is 300 and the beam 499. With black friday: jbl 220 and beam 399. 👌😎🙌

Thanks for the video! Crutchfield recommended the Denon sound bar when I spoke with them ( Denon DHT-S21 - Powered 2.1-channel sound bar with Dolby Atmos®Have not seen many reviews on this bar. Any experience with it?

No worries 😄 I don't have any experience with that model. There's heaps of bars in that price range and the Beam, Bose 300 and JBL 5.0 are probably the most popular and for good reason. I'd try get into a store and listen to it yourself if you can. Not sure if that's helpful or not 🥴

I went with the JBL, mostly because of the price and Bluetooth. If I want to take it outside for a party,, I just need electricity and not Wi-Fi. The reviews are largely right about it being a little annoying to fiddle with without an app, although it appears that there now is one for connecting to your home network. The sound is great to my ears. The bass on the music is good but I’m so happy to be rid of the subwoofer because I don’t like hearing every explosion in my stomach when I watch an action movie.

For the Bose 300, can a third party, self powered, sub woofer be used connected to its rear bass slot?

No, it cannot. But keep in mind that the BOSE Sub 700, which I personally recommend, is by far on point with any SUB available today.

I did purchase the new larger Sonos sound bar. It didn’t work with the rest of my Sonos . I took it back . The Bose it fine.

Just purchased the Bose 300. Haven’t hooked it up yet on my new Samsung TV (which I also haven’t set up yet). I might have to get someone in my place to hook me up and integrate my cable and Blu ray player

Awesome! All you have to do is plug in an HDMI cable from your TV’s ARC port to the HDMI Out on the soundbar and keep the blu ray player and cable box plugged into the TV. Once you’ve done that you can download the Bose Music app and connect the soundbar to wifi. Hope that helps.

@@archwaytech Done! It sounds great….I didn’t expect it to compare to my Yamaha receiver with B&W speakers..…it’s not as good for music…maybe the Bose 700 would have been better, but for movies and TV I get better separation of sounds and the dialogue is clearer

Soundbar reviews NEED to have sound samples with speech. Music and movie sound effects are fine and dandy, but the most important thing is clear and full bodied vocals. Almost all soundbars fall flat on their face in this department. They may have clear treble and smooth midrange. Some even have strong bass. But good midbass and lower midrange seems impossible to attain from a small plastic bar.
