I remember going to Footlocker at the local mall and purchasing a pair of black cement 4's in 1989. I was 14 years old. Damn they were so much better than all the retros, except for the 99 4's and the 94 and 2001 Jordan 3's. Those retros are very close to the originals. Back then you could get Jordans at like 6 different stores in the mall where I live. JC Penney sold them, Sears, all the athletic sneaker stores, Belk, and a couple other types of stores. They almost were never out of stock. Maybe your size would be out of stock. Even the next year when the next Jordans were released there would still be plenty of the previous ones in stock. I guess they were making so many pairs. The quality back then was soooo much better than now. Plus the overall shape and height was better. I got my first pair of red, white, and black Jordan 1's from the JC Penney catalog in 1985. Then when the Jordan 2's came out in 1987 I think, all the remaining 1's they still had in stock were on sale and on a clearance rack for like $15. Those were the days.

The Black Cement 4's is my all time favorite Jordan & it was my very first Jordan back in 87-88 when I was a kid in middle school. Are they coming back out with the Nike Air on the heal tab next year John? I just got the 2012 pair earlier his year & worn them several times, the midsole paint cracked from the first time I wore them but it doesn't look bad. I'd love the show to retro in OG form I'd probably buy 4-5 pairs TBH lol
