People play as if they're actually by themselves, and unintentionally undermine the team. Most games I get a timid duo-queue, or a W-key solo. A lot of fights feel like 1 v 3's because my teammates are not actually playing WITH me. I'm always aware of when my teammates are in trouble, their health and position. My teammates don't know if I'm in trouble, don't seem to know if I'm fighting, never push off of massive damage. Most fights where I do a lot of damage my teammates will allow the enemy to reset almost every time. For me the switch was realizing that as a defensively-minded player, initiating action is far better than being passive or being attacked. As you said, it's the yin yang of Daoism, where there are elements of the opposite in both. One should be aggressive in Apex, but not from the standpoint of wanting to thirst every squad per se. it's about knowing which engagements to take, and knowing you have the advantage if you initiate first and wipe quickly. The Yang of that is understanding your position in context to every other team, the final circle, etc. Context matters, and you need to turn off the int-brain and widen your focus. For me, the objective is to win. Kills will come if you have that mindset. Teams will inevitably get in your way, and you'll have to take them out. it's unavoidable. And that not only provides a better mindest for the game, but it will net you more success. Your teammates are your best resources for getting both kills and wins. If you want to push, let your teammates know, or at least ping. For some, it's - you need to shoot your gun, and push. For others it's - you need to just stop, and take a breath. Knowing when to attack and when to defend. Knowing when attacking is defending, and when it puts you at risk. Water can flow and crash. My advice for solo queue is: be nice to your teammates. Tell them where you want to go, and where you're going. As a rule of thumb, choose the fastest/most aggressive player on your team and anchor yourself to their hip; this is doubly true as a support player. If you can't beat them (convince them), you might as well be there to help them when they inevitably nosedive into a 3-stack. And have fun. you're going to lose more than you win (unless you're cracked), and every fight is going to be bricked. Embrace the chaos, accept your teammates will be bad - and your life will be better. Focus on what you can control, and more success will follow. Wowzers...

@@mikeag8362 I'm no pro, but i do play alot of FPS games. I can't really elaborate greatly, i'm better at doing than talking, but check out something called "slice the pie". Basically position to only take one engagement at a time. I wouldn't be suprised if it is incredibly difficult in higher level Apex with movement and abilities though.

Scrappy I learned a lot just from listening to your video, as a solo quer the things I do need to work on is stop blaming myself and teammates alot and realize it's all a learning experience. I struggle with this mentality alot it's just the matchmaking can be so bad when your up against 3 stacks and you get noobies on your team. Thank you for explaining about getting better angles on enemy teams as well I never payed much attention to that because I'm always out in the open and I get third partied, makes me want to rethink my approach on the enemy . Yeah, I regularly have to direct my friend who is 200 levels higher than me and has a 3k badge (and regularly gets 2500+ dmg). My best is a 2k on Mirage lol. Yet I have more game sense than him, he plays rampart so often sits behind his covers poking people without capitalising. We are getting much better at pushing together now 🎉

S20 Team mates are desperate for kills and will not shoot because they know opening damage will not get them kills. Team mates will not follow or stay with you. Team mates have no idea what pings are for. Never any comms. Team mates have no idea what cover fire is or what angles are. Team mates will not perform tasks to help gain blue / purple shields. Team mates will not use legend abilities. Team mates will take loot off your toes despite you hovering over it. You are an excellent player Scrappy and you can carry, I can't. This video is excellent in content and delivery, let's hope people watch it and pray they listen to you.

My teammates usually run off when I die. Or they'll suggest a spot but be first to run off and I ended up being stranded and killed because of their stupid choice. Or I'll go give them support so they can heal but instead they run completely off and I ended up dying because they rather see me die then see themselves die. Smh. Or I'll land with them and they steal all my stuff and be the first to die and am here trying find a weapon because my own teammate took everything but then pinning the enemy after they die expecting me to kill them but am weaponless. Or don't have any heals or shields because my teammate ran straight into danger forgetting that I don't have anything to back them up with. Smh.

It would feel like all the time and all the hours I put in this game would be fake. Guaranteeing that ratting somehow reflects who you are outside of the game is so brain dead lol. Ratting is extremely viable as a means to rank up. You can practice your gun skill a lot easier outside of a br environment and then jump into br and rat to rank up and still be getting better at the game while putting more time into the game overall lol. So stupid.
