@@uuop9940 been 3 weeks. But the reason I wuoldn't call them a "soul's like" is because I would basically call them a souls game in all but name. "Souls Like" implies a level of difference (such as Nioh, or Hollow Knight) however Elden Ring and Bloodborne as so close in spirit that they are practically Souls Games.

I got this game and it honestly surprised me. Is it the best soulslike? That's up for debate. But that doesn't take away that this game is fun, and for the price (I paid $20 for the complete edition) It's well worth it. The length of the game is excellent to where it doesn't overstay its welcome, and side quests have its benefits that they encourage you to complete them. I do hope we get a sequel with possibly improved graphics and more stuff.

no. soulsborn games are the from ones for sure. i get that distinction. but these games created the sub genre souls like to which the soulsborn games themselves belong to Take metroidvania for example. The genre stems from Metroid and Castlevania, yet you wouldn't call every Metroidvania that isn't part of these franchises a Metroidvania-like

@@gravy4425 Elden ring is a mainline souls game so it doesn't classify as a souls like. But Nioh 2 is a superior game either way, the game isn't 90% walking so it wins on that fact alone.
