back in their day these bikes were so easy to ride they felt and handled like a 250 and u could wheelstand them forever didn't go around corners that great and didn't stop all that good either but they were a joy to own and ride i ended up going over the handlebars on mine probably why my nickname was crazy, modern bikes are all about performance handling and horsepower glad i grew up with bikes like the CBX1000

First bike I ever rode… well if you don’t count my 50cc moped. My brother bought it brand new back in the day and on several occasions, when he went out to work, I shall we say ‘borrowed it’ for a spin. Back in the day of the old paper driving licence there were no photos - I just remembered his DoB and I was away. That was me forever hooked. Would love to try it out again so may well buy a ticket or two. Who knows. Brought back some very happy memories. Thank you guys.

Must have been 1979/1980. Standing beside a CBX admiring that bike from Cb350four (now a classic too). We both turned right and I was left for dust. Remembering as if it happened yesterday. So jealous. Very tempted to buy one now (and a Cb350four actually 😅). What an amazing machine the CBX was and is!!

Willenhall Bike Centre. Mid 1985. They had a second hand one in the window exactly the same as this one. I had an MZ 50 because I was 16 and I used to stand looking at that CBX Thou after closing hours. I guess kids don't do that now. Shame.

Bought one new in 1979, silver color way. Assumed it would never be surpassed in performance, I was never accused of being a forward thinker, Suzuki introduced an 1100 four very shortly after that grabbed the performance crown. No comparison in pure visual presents and sound however. Marriage in September of ‘79 did us part in order to buy a home, still consider that bike the one that got away. Rode it enough to appreciate the goodness that beautiful 6 brought to the table, the CBX was a great mix of looks, performance, reasonable handling, breaking, suspension, and all day comfort. Weight was up there a bit. Wanted to pipe it out but never got the chance, shame that; I’ll never forget the amazing torque and silky smoothness of that superlative engine, good tranny. Thanks for sharing, a time tunnel video experience for me for sure!!!

I rode a Honda CBX 750 everyday in mid 90s as commander of Traffic Enforcement with Royal Hong Kong Police. It had to lug blues and twos, radios, sirens, panniers of 1st Aid kit and loud speakers - and deal with HK Island congestion. Not quite the 6 cylinder 1000cc - but very similar in handling. At that time I rode a Yamaha 1200 VMax in private life and so pretty much spent all day - everyday on two wheels. Fond memories

Back in the day my good friend Paul Barkway let me have a go on his CBX and I thought it felt about the same performance as my slightly tuned Norton Commando 750, later it was confirmed at Avon Park that the bikes were about equal with 12.5 second ET's and terminal speeds of around 109 mph, I really liked the Honda though and fancied buying one but the Norton gave nearly double the fuel mileage under steady motorway cruising and general blasting around town and that settled it. Thanks for another great review lads, Roland. HT Racing Ltd

A much older biking friend of mine, sadly now passed, had a Dunstall Norton Commando, back in the '80's, which was much quicker than I thought it had any right to be!😂 Very light and nimble compared to the big Jap fours of the day.

I remember when in the mid-80ies most CBXs were run-down cheap bangers. Some of my mates had them, in various states of decay. Being honest, i was quite envious, but at least got the gratification that i could keep up with them on my GS 1000, which nominally was 15 HP weaker. The sound is truly something else, and i remember that a 6-1 exhaust was quite popular back then.
@phils21806 ай бұрын
Ironically, those 6 into 1 exhausts probably lost power. The sound of a standard bike was quite muted, even back then, a situation quickly remedied buy many owners!😂😂

You can't beat classic motorbikes, they make you feel so alive, unlike the modern motorcycles which are so sanitized and boring that when you get off you have to check you still have a pulse. There are loads of reasonably priced classics out there, ok not the cbx1000 but plenty of other 750's or the cb900 for example which can be had for anywhere between £2000 - £4000 depending on condition. I can't imagine ever wanting to buy a new motorcycle, when there are so many great old ones still out there.

I had perhaps been riding for a year when this bike came out. These days a 600-750 cc Supersport would leave it for dead but back in its day it was the fastest, quickest accelerating and most powerful stock bike you could buy - it was the first bike with an engine that produced more than 100 HP. Bikes from that era had very comfy seats.

I have been riding five years when that beauty came out….. and as far as I can remember there were quite a few sold…. I was a firm British motorbike rider at the time moving onto BMWs but Honda was always such a groundbreaking manufacturer notably the CX 500 and the CBR 1000….. But also, Suzuki had the singing kettle as in the GT 750 two stroke triple Kawasaki and the Z1000 Also, the Suzuki katana"s absolutely incredible stunning machines…. so many bikers back then would meet outside the pubs in the countryside and race up and down the lanes

Iconic, certainly but from an era when braking and handling played second fiddle to engine spec and power!😂 I test rode one of these in 1983 but ended up buying a Z1300 which, to be fair, had a slightly different focus, a lot more power and torque but quite a bit heavier. The CBX may have been top sports dog in it's day 😲(that's how far things have moved on) but 105bhp and 250+kg is pretty tame these days, they are all about the naked looks and the sound.👍 I wouldn't call modern Hondas boring. Stock Fireblades now lap the TT at 130+mph. So, would I want to own a CBX? No because I didn't own one back in the day so have no feelings of nostalgia for it. Now and again I think of picking up a Z13 as it was my first post test bike and brings back many memories but I'm under no illusions that it would be a poor ride compared to the modern bikes in the garage.

The local Honda dealer was opposite the Technical College where we apprentices did our day release, with a Kawasaki dealer a 100 yards down the road. So our lunch times were spent browsing showrooms, imagine our reaction as 17 year olds on L plates when a red CBX1000 appeared in pride of place in our Honda dealer. 105 hp seemed unimaginable back then, it hardly registers now, even my R nineT has 110hp (at the crank) ! Quite a few years later I remember seeing one riding away from Cadwell Park at warp speed. Possibly Scottish viewers might remember the name Roy Anderson, he had a large head-on photo in his garage of himself on a CBX pulling the mother of all wheelies. Very sadly Roy lost his life in the Formula 1 TT in 1991.

Hello gents! A review on Honda’s brand new array of its classic inspired 350cc segment would be great! I’m based in Singapore and I own an Indian variant Honda H’ness CB350 otherwise known as Honda GB350 in Japan. Honda India has came up with three 350cc models; CB350, H’ness CB350 & CB350RS. Honda Japan then matched the market and started distributing the same 350cc models under a different name as in that order; GB350C, GB350 & GB350S. My H’ness CB350 produce a brilliant exhaust note as I cruise through the city of Singapore. Smooth as butter. Hopefully you lot will be able to get your hands on them in the near future for the viewers. Love watching this channel, cheers!

I owned exactly the same bike in 1985 when i was 22! Same colour but with the flatter bar's fitted as it was a UK model. I paid £1400 done only 6000 miles! It had been covered in grease by the previous owner to preserve it. Took me a full day too get it all off,and it was absolutely mint 😊. I put a brand new 6-1 chrome laser pipe on it and it sounded brilliant 😁. At 10,000 miles a few months later it needed new chain and sprockets,two new tyres and front brake pads,so facing a largish bill i sold it for £1800 thinking I'd done well 🤔. If I'd kept it,it would probably be worth £15,000😭.
