Udipi hotels in general be of north or south canara serve excellent tiffins. Their sambar is wxcellent and tastes heavenly. Mysore dosas especially masala( unlike Bombay where Dosas are stuffed with with colourfull chutnies) with just potato and onion palaya is heavenly.Bombay masala dosaiwhich is called Mysore masaladosa is an anethima.There can be no two saying Udipi hotels are the best place to eat9. In chennai there are several udipi outlets serving excellent tiffin and people throng these hotels. Their Bennee dosai made withlots of butter is the epitome of udipi dosas quite tasty indeed.👍👍👍

udupi restaurants cuisine is brahmin veg cuisine which is basically south indian veg with a few quirks. You have different brahmin cuisine in mylapore and different brahmin cuisine in coastal andhra. South Indian non-veg has tremendous variety with hyderabadi nawabi cuisine of telangana, hot andhra veg cuisine from coastal area, TN has ambur biryani and mughlai in north arcot etc and south Indian non veg cuisine in south TN. Kerala has veg cuisine that uses coconut milk extensively so not preferred by restaurants because they spoil easily. North Kerala has malabari, yemeni influence, also lot of variety in non veg, Karnataka had coastal, as seen in anand bhawan and North Karnatak has totally different cuisine of which I know little about.

a nice place for street food sasoon dock mumbai after entrance of main sasoon dock first left turn small gulli right side gawdes mobile stall only egg dishes omlet single/double fry ghasti single/double half fry " palati fry all dishes are yummy particularli single spicy hot omlet put into with three(small pavs) very very yummy i ate always in three sets then near sasoon dock gate two cuttings hot tea very funtastic for this once in a month I come from navi mumai north 400 701 u too may try

Most of the dishes are from Karnataka. It's more of a Karnataka cuisine than a generalized South Indian cuisine. Don't know about Khotto Idli though. Probably a Malayali dish.

Surag Shastry it is specifically Saraswat bhramin dish from mangalore area.. Most of Anand Bhavans dishes r.. Since he is from udupi.. N yes wrong place for a tribute to Onam since those dishes r completely different
