Hell Hath no Fury and Food Liquor came out that year. Those years were a drought in hip hop from doing a little research, but Kanye was pretty much in charge that era. Jay Z, Lupe, MF Doom, Lil Wayne dropped Carter III I mean the list goes on. T.I. is a good rapper but I never thought he was an elite rapper. I think he’s just one of those guys who’s impact is ultimately greater then his skills as a MC. I mean you talk about groundbreaking but Paper Trail was his biggest album and in that is a lot of radio songs. I wouldn’t say that’s moving the deal. He def had an impact on the South but it was never really global like those other artists.

I’d check his verses on Little Brother songs: Slow It Down, The Yo Yo, Whatever You Say, Boondock Saints, Dreams, After the Party, All In a Day, Glory Glory Solo tracks: Expensive Genes, Cry No More, The Good Fight, Dance In the Reign, So Help Me God. Features: Strong Arm Steady - The Best of Times, Statik Selektah - On the Marquee, IamNobodi - Let It Roll Interlude, The Roots - The Day, Torae - Clap Shit Up, Topaz Jones - Who?, The Away Team - See U Later Phonte and KRIT are my 2 favorites over the last 20 years so I hate they were matched up. They’re up there with Face, 3 Stacks, Bun B, and Pimp C as my favorites from the south. Phonte and Face are 2 of of top 5, period.

I def get Andre over Rashad when it comes to rap technique, but I will say that for me personally, I can connect to Isaiah on a more emotional level than Andre’s. The low key pain and struggle that Rashad is able to convey with his sneaky depressing one liners that change the vibe of what would normally just be a southern trap bop is what does it for me. @@thekhayriera4811 fam even people at TDE said how lazy he is when it comes to making music. He’s dropped one mixtape (Cilvia’s Demo/pretty much sounds like a demo) and two albums. I’m not including that EP in 07 never heard it. Cilvia’ Demo came out in 2014 and it’s 2024 now, so it basically took him 5 years to make each album. That’s insane. In contrast, Denzel made TABOO, Melt My Eyez (Album of the year contenders), Unlocked, ZUU, Imperial (all solid to great pieces of work). I mean how tf is this even a conversion? Even if we examine Rashad’s work it’s not like his albums are even consistent quality wise I end up taking a few tracks from each of those two albums and ditching the rest
