This style Western just seems to capture what I imagine the Real West felt like (though there are far more gunfights than were actually present in those times). Gritty, somber, with just the echo of an Ennio score drifting over the wind-swept prairies....

"Death Rides A Horse" is my all-time favorite spaghetti western! Great cast,Awesome music,And a story that is filled with action and revenge! Starring my all-time favorite actor Lee Van Cleef! "If it's not a spaghetti, it ain't a western". Thanks....

Very true.Very fine spaghetti western movie.Both Lee Van Cliff acted superbly.Bollywood Blockbuster movie Zanjeer (starring Amitabh Bachchan)was inspired by this very movie.

Fistful of Dollars didn't spawn the spaghetti western genre, the genre's second filmmaker genius Sergio Corbucci's first two westerns Massacre at Grand Canyon (1963) and Minnesota Clay (1964) were pre-Fistful... Even Ennio Morricone had provided a score for a western before he united with Leone, the Richard Harrison starrer Gunfight at Red Sands (also 1963)

I've been watching spaghetti westerns all my life and I'm old. What makes spaghetti to me is one has to have a good opening theme song.the sound of ricocheting bullets from the guns which I think is probably the biggest difference between spaghetti Westerns and regular westerns the sound of the guns. In fact it's also in James bond. A good cast and a good story that always helps but also the ending have also a good theme and almost want to make you cry as the movie is ending.I guess everybody can make your own list and it might be the same or different. Definitely The Good the bad and the ugly is the number one spaghetti western.one that should be on your list with Anthony Quinn and Charles Bronson. The guns for San Sebastian. Navajo with Burt Reynolds. And of course the big gun down with Lee Van kleef. Really would like to know what you think😊 .
