I detail my 22 year old shitmobile for summer by filling up the tank and adding air to the tires. That's enough, it looks exactly the same But I wish it was worthy of a wash like this, but I might lose the structural rust holding it together

Awesome! Now I can show my parents and friends this and they can see for themselves why the "simple" tire change I do for them in spring/fall takes a couple of hours. Cleaning off all the caked salt and dirt and protecting before is seriously such a lifesaver for the car. I always do this (although you gave me some very good new tips here) and even when living in a country with the dreaded road salt the cars don't rust and look like new underneath. Best channel on KZbin. Thanks!

This guy is a prime example of someone who absolutely owns their OCD. My sister has OCD, like she crossed her T's with a ruler since grade school, but she used it to study like crazy and graduate as valedictorian of her college in engineering and get into a top 5 MBA. Being extremely compulsively detail oriented can be a huuuuuge asset. Bravo!

I love that I can go back to a video I watched a year or two ago and still be amazed and enjoy every second of it. I’ve always thought about putting a tire product on the inner sidewall. I find that most people’s tires go bad over time because of the cracking on sidewalls versus lack of tread so if this helps slow that process for people, I’m all game.

@@michaelsieber98 pfft. though buying all that is indeed over 200 bucks, but you only use 5% to 10% of them for single treatment. so you either need to clean 5 cars to use the remaining products. cause after "opened product stays advisable for couple months." like most of paint cans i buy... only use like 40% to 60% of them and rest goes to waste disposal.

When we left the rust belt for sunny California in 2014, both of my Year-2011 vehicles were showing the effects of road salt. I knew that if I didn't do something quick, I'd lose my vehicles to corrosion. I wasn't lazy; I always hosed off the road mud/salt from underneath as soon as I got home (froze my a** in the process!). The long 2,000-mile+ trip helped get rid of a lot of the rust. When I got to Cali, I noticed a lot of the red rust had been "sandblasted" away by road sand and granules. I quickly steel-wooled and wire brushed the rest away, primed and spray painted the metal with rust-neutralizing paint. I feel none of these products here or anywhere will revert the rusting process, NaCl will always win unless you remove it MECHANICALLY and then protect the metal with neutralizing paint. But I enjoyed this video and would be willing to give SOME of the products a shot. FF to 2018, my vehicles look great, rust-free and are worth more that what "the book" says, because of the "perceived special care" by the owner, that makes it desirable by a potential buyer.

That is the right way to take of your car. Most cars and trucks end up in the scrapyard too soon because they are not properly taken care of. Proper car care takes time and most people think the are too busy, too lazy or just don't know how to detail.

This would take us normal car washing mortals all day and then some, but it is worth the trouble if you care enough about your vehicle. I might just do the first wave as he demonstrates on day 1, pull it inside the garage and then hit the exterior on day 2, since I know it will take me longer. I hand wash my car regularly, but I admit I'll be a bit rusty and slower than normal after having to take the winter off from the regular regimen.

13:52 “after the second coat of reflex I went inside for diner” .... am i the only person who thought that he was going to walk back in to the garage and find the car missing because his wife: 1. Looked at the car and thought it was done. 2. Decided to run an errand. 3. Decides to take the car to a local car wash because Larry missed a spot.

You are so very helpful.. Thank you for all of these informational videos.. You have saved me thousands on diy care care and paint correction.. I do it all without machines.. all by hand... I also change all my fluids as well and I drive a 2019 honda passport... Love it and the paint is gorgeous because of your teachings!!

A drive on a rainy day will still kick up mud, dust, dirt, rocks etc etc. I don't go as hard as this guy, but simply exposing your vehicle to outside elements and simply driving it will add wear on it no matter what.
