Thanks. I appreciate it. Before the Covid crash my videos were getting thousands of views but ever since the start of the pandemic all numbers just plummeted. 😭

I have been looking into Erma Bell Lakes loop trail for a backpacking trip and am so glad you included it here. I have seen reviews in past years that April is still a bit early due to snow cover though I can't find any comments on trail conditions yet this year. Have you heard anything @hikeoregon? Thank you as always for your great content!
@HikeOregon2 жыл бұрын
April is still very early for Erma Bell. The earliest I’ve done it was May 25 and there was still a few snow drifts. This year you’ll very likely be able to get in there by mid May.

You are blessed to live where you do and have the common sense to immerse yourself in nature. You should look into flyfishing-- you can add it to some of your hikes and even catch a free meal. As an added bonus you are further immersing yourself in nature. When I first learned to flyfish, it felt like a baptism.

That’s awesome! My new hiking guidebook that is coming out in May will have tons of fishing info in it👍🏼

Excellent info! I wonder how the "Permit" system that is being proposed will impact hikers in the Gorge? I think they will only allow so many permits on any given day.
@HikeOregon2 жыл бұрын
It will have a big impact for sure for many trails. But there are many more trails in the gorge that won’t require these permits, so folks will just have to seek out alternatives.

Great video! Is green lakes trail accessible right now?
@HikeOregon2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. That trail won’t be snow free until end of June or early July.

Out of these 10 my favorite would be Kentucky Falls or Erma Bell Lakes.
