Wow! This was a tough one! Every state park has something unique and special about it. rvtexasyall.com/rv-lifestyle/best-state-parks-2019 What are some of your favorite state parks?

I have been told that Copper Breaks is the second best place in the State of Texas (State Park?) to see the stars. I have been there but not overnight. I will have to make a trip there soon. That area of Texas (Copper Breaks, Caprock Canyon, & Palo Duro) has such unique flora and terrain features. Encourage everyone to visit them sometime. Also, would like to encourage the viewers to become familiar with the stars. Start with learning a few of the major constellations. Naked Eye viewing is the best way to get started. You’re missing out on half the scenery if you’re not looking up. (One special star caught the attention of some Magi 2000 years ago.🌟). 😀🌙✨🪐⭐️🔭

Yes Bob! You are so right! We love to sit outside and just look at the stars. So relaxing and yet amazing at the same time. We love all of our Northwestern/Panhandle parks... incredible!

Thanks for the overview. I tent and bike camp based out of the Houston area within a few hours drive. And camped 12x this past year. My favorites from this past year was Martin Dies Jr and Mission Tejas. Beuscher was nice but small with limited hiking trails. For a local National Park, Double Lake is my favorite for its mountain bike trails. Mother Neff is on my list to visit in 2023, as well and Pendales and Colorado Bend, maybe not so great for RV peeps. IDK.

There are 7 campgrounds plus tent and horse camping areas within Custer State Park. 3 out of the 7 are "Big Rig Friendly" and can accommodate a 45 ft. motorhome. I'd rate it one of the top state parks in the US.

Thanks for the additional info Roy! We completely agree with you about it being one of the top state parks in the US. We look forward to going back.

Good Morning Y'all ☕️! Great SP reviews! This is a better count down to Christmas than the original 12 days of Christmas! 😂 And the best things are Mother Neff is 155 miles and Mineral Wells is 105 miles from the house! Perfect weekend getaway retreat! Happy Holidays and Safe Travels ☕️!

We love Goliad state park, a bit small but a lot of Texas history. So close to town of Goliad. Neat diner on town square. Walking trails easy and spaces generous.

Going back through older videos that I missed. Loved all the info you shared and making notes. We had planned on going to Custer this summer but all our plans went on hold with the crazy virus and then Dr.’s appts. Going to venture out soon and hit up some southern spots in Tx. By the way, when I was just a toddler, parents have photos of me sitting on top of big boulders at Palo Duro Canyon(early 50’s)😂 My Dad was working up in that area for some time. I love my Ozarks and 1/2 of my childhood grew up in Texas so it’s always been my first love👍 I just love the videos yawl make!
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Hey Betty! Thanks for going back through and watching our older videos! How cool that you visited Palo Duro Canyon so young. We bet those are some great pictures and family memories. Sorry to hear that your plans for Custer got derailed this year, but the experience will be much better when things are more "normal". It is definitely a bucket list park! We look forward to visiting the Ozarks in the future.

I was happy to hear you name Lake Mineral Wells as one of your favorites. I've been there quite a few times, both camping and just driving through because I was in the area (two of my aunts live nearby, one directly in MW). It's funny though that I don't recall seeing the crevices. LOL. I'm going to have to drive over again soon. I do love the amphitheater in that park. Custer State Park is definitely on my list of places to see now. Safe travels, y'all!

I guess with a Texas state parks annual pass you could just full time using them being they are somewhat close together. You could even chase the climate somewhat and stay comfortable.

Absolutely Scott! You just wouldn't be able to escape the summer heat. We spent a full month in Texas State Parks this summer. (some parks give a weekly discount)

What's the best TEXAS state park with wild life like Custer?
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Great question Sherlynn. We think that would be Caprock Canyons State Park up in the Panhandle. Bison, mule deer, prairie dogs and a whole lot more! We have a couple of videos from there: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGXMmYx5qNlrlas It is absolutely one of our favorite parks in Texas!
