We stayed in Cullman a couple years ago. We enjoyed it very much, most of what we did was within a 15 minute drive from the campground with a few longer trips as well. We'll be going back soon.

The way Jayco wraps the sound shields around the generators is notorious for causing the generator to overheat and shut off.

Might check oil in the generator. Could be low oil switch shutting it down or a bad low oil switch.

check the oil level on the generator, they shut off with low oil, they are really sensitive about the level

We are considering a Class-C and have never camped. Is it reasonable to camp and not tow or drive another vehicle? Is it fairly simple to break camp to go eat or go somewhere and go back to camp and reconnect?
