Thank you for this video. I'm currently looking into storage options for the 4K and the 6K. When looking at the speed of all of the options, I'm curious to see if the XT even supports 6K 50p Q0. Are you able to try it out? 30p 6K Q0 chews into 242 to 483 MB/s. The maximum write speed of the Angelbird CFAST XT is 480?. Does this mean it can't handle a super complex shot in 50p Q0? If so, what does? The T5 is also limited to around 540(transfer. Don't know what the write speed actually is) if I remember correctly. Maybe other drives are faster but f.ex. the T7 hacks its speed with a buffer so it can't shoot video. Its speed is advertised as sequential write at 1000MB/s which makes it unusable for the BMPCC. Do we have to rely on an external recording to record super complex shots with Q0 in 50p 6K? thanks, M

Honestly - I love the Bmcc6kpro so much for what it is but I'm also super disappointed with the fact that even external SSD's lose data. Hasn't happened much to me but it has happened overall even with a Samsun T7 2TB which should be double the t5's reading and writing speed. Also the inaccuracy of the battery data (telling you it has way more than it really has and then turning off on you mid shoot). Super disappointing. For me, getting an Angel CF card is like $1000. It's crazy

I watched a YT vid recently that pointed out that the BMPCC6K Pro is a true cinema camera, but is often compared to DSLR's. They went on to explain that a true cinema camera should be expected to require a full rig i.e. Vmounts, monitor, the whole kit and kaboodle. It was a pretty convincing argument against it's downsides. Especially considering the price point and numerous features. The thing that really ticks me off is the short approved media list. A T7 should be ampol and an NVME drive should be best drive for the device.

AND: if using ProRes 422/or HQ, I should be good to go with 24p and 30p? Again just making sure. I prefer the SDXC over CF for now however, I'm looking into the CFast cards too. The BMPCC6K I'm referring to isn't mine, I'm being asked to run it for someone for a few hours. I appreciate this video and your help. Thank you, -Michael

I fou look up on the BM Web Page you will find the Speed you have to use for certain Formats and so on. Since 3:1 is better/higher rates (Blackmagic RAW 3:1 - 323 MB/s - 6K - 30frs) than 5:1 or 8:1 its possible. The 422HQ with 4K is possible with an SD Card Write Speed ofe 422HQ with 4K is possible with an SD Card Write Speed of 120MB/s. This speeds are made up with 30frs. The card will be expensive and just make sure to have a v90 card.
