I completely understand that view point. I spent almost an hour going over what I did wrong. It was not til I thought of the fact I counted every part during my layout. That. Realized they were truly EXTRA parts. All said and done. Still an amazing product. Be safe.

Don't throw unused expired/old silicone (or any glue that dries to a rubber) tubes out. Those are good if you want to make spacers, you cut the plastic off and you find yourself in the possession of a rubber tube.

Nice, I really like how it doesn't have as much of a potential to have a cluttered rack appearance. Since you can move all the units on the rails and hide it. Gives you a good option to keep an area cleaner looking. Or be able to film in an area and have a clean appearance.

That is by far one of the badass things a man or women can put in there shop!!! However: Can you really say you like the system when you don’t read the set up instructions. ( that is part of the warranty- I guess). You end up with extra parts. When I see you and your crew build a building. The thing that sticks out the most too me, is the amount of detail you and the crew put into your work. Safety first and always. I try to think of the “what if factor”. You know the one. What if anyone got hurt because I didn’t put those extra parts in the box. I only know you from what I see on your channel. You are a detailed great builder and teacher. Hell you even look like a good boss, thats hard to come by these day. All that said. I’m just razzing you. That’s one bas ass storage system I got two of them. I read and counted everything. And still, had a few extra parts. Keep up the great work.

they told me they are still dialing in their parts and pieces.... they know they aren't going out properly. My guess is they are generically packaging them regardless of module quantity and size.

Often times items requiring assembly are packaged with spare parts by design, in the event you lose something, strip a screw, etc.

My problem is too much stuff I will never use. Throwing stuff away is not easy. Then there are the books. Getting old is sad but better than the alternate. Keep the storage compact and handy or it will not be used. Make a list of what you really need and build the storage around the list. BTW - RTFM is the best advice ever. Just do it.

$2800 out of my league. Cool system though. Could the fact that the inside of the pegboard be light colored to assist in brightening the shelves? I'd think that black would make find things more difficult. JMHO
@maintenancebynathan21504 жыл бұрын
First things first. Get rid of the garbage. Return to your supplier what you can. Sell what you don't need or use anymore. Give it away if you have to. Now you will only need about half of the shelves. Love your vids btw.
@Ham682296 жыл бұрын
You'll find that the particle board or mdf which looks like the shelves are made of, will warp/sag with weight over time. Ply is better than the mdf and solid is better than ply. If you're worried about moisture, dehumidifier, unless you're worried about spillage from containers. Have to agree with others about the usable space, seems for that kind of money, should've been bigger with more shelving units. Not really understanding why the usage of the peg board as backers... can't use pegs to store tools, etc., interferes with the next unit. Still a good video. Cheers :)
@davidhamann13005 жыл бұрын
i have seen storage units along the same lines in DIY mags and online where you build the cabinets out of plywood with pegboard backs, roll either from a suspended system or along the floor on wheels, and are totally customizable for less $$$. this looks like a ok system, but needs lots of work. just a FYI, you have probably learned by now, that not only do the instructions show how it goes together and in what order, but also, you could do this... or this... save yourself some grief in the end.

You can throw three layers of random lacquer over the particle boards. That would seal them up for life. On the off chance you reply to older videos Ill just tell you anyway. First I dont want to tell you how to build your shelves. But technically, and i dont even know if its in the manual had you read it anyway, the uprights are backwards how you have them. The cross angle on the upwards is supposed to drop the angle from the wall. You have it rising from the wall. Its honestly probably inconsequential. But having built these type of shelves in almost every autozone on the west coast i just know how these things are supposed to go Check the battery racks or oil racks next time you go to an autozone, theyll always have the angles dropping from the wall. And if they dont then someone didnt do their job properly.
