1) Accept all things. 2) Deliver excellence now. 3) Never quit, you can win it in the late innings. I grew up hearing those three things. This is my grandpa. I remember going to the silver spoon with my mom, as long as I've been alive. Unfortunately, he passed earlier today, October 11, 2019. He was surrounded by those who love him and cherish him. I will miss him greatly, as will many, many people who he never got the chance to meet. Thanks, pops, for everything. We'll see you on the next bounce.

He was a nice man. I met him one day while having lunch with my friend, actor Michael Gregory (SWAT commander in the original "Robocop" movie), at the Silver Spoon in 2007 or 2008 (can't remember which). Mike walked me over and introduced me to him. From his accent, I thought he was from Chicago (my home town), but he told me he was from Buffalo. He was a classic '60s/'70s man's man, old school. And, he was a fine actor. He will be missed.

Jackie Brown is Tarantino's best film to date, full stop. Good film's are built from the ground up; the writing and casting shouldering the most weight. Jackie Brown is an A+ because both are done to about as close to perfection as humanely possible. The fact that Robert Forster's performance stands out in such a sublimely casted film is an extraordinary achievement. He's perfect in Jackie Brown and he so deserved that opportunity to be wonderful.

I think the tendency for actors given a potentially career resurrecting role is to go "big" in their performance. Instead, his performance in Jackie Brown is so wonderfully subtle and understated.

Robert Forster was a GREAT man! One of my favorite memories is having brunch at the table right next to him RIGHT THERE AT THE SILVER SPOON! I was with actors Duane Whitaker (Maynard in Pulp Fiction), Joe Estevez (friend of Robert's) and Daniel Roebuck (LOST, Matlock, Getting Grace). We talked to him throughout our Brunch and it was a wonderful experience. I felt he should have won Best Supporting Actor for Jackie Brown (he was Nominated) and I asked him about being in a movie and he said, "You'll find that you can not only get me, but actors lining up to be in it." GREAT man. R.I.P. Robert. He passed just two months before my cousin, a fellow Oscar Nominee, Danny Aiello. May they both REST IN GOD'S ETERNAL PEACE.

He's so correct about having a good attitude. He could have been bitter about not getting the role in Resevoir Dogs and ignored Tarantino when he came in the restaurant but he was friendly, invited him over it eventually led to a role that revived his career.

Not many people may believe this but I'm related to Robert Forster. He's my grandfather's cousin. The shame is my grandfather's dad has barely any contact left with his siblings so my grandpa saw him when he was young maybe only a few times. I just think it's sad I or the rest of my family barely ever got to meet him. Originally when I found this out I tried to see if my grandfather was mentioned on the internet but it was only really him and his parents. It sucks that he died even though my grandfather's side of the family was just separated, to begin with. All I know is that we are proud of him!

Then I met a brilliant young pianist today who was got up and played the unused piano in the cafe. We got talking, and I ended up giving him a private little Master Class which he really appreciated, and I thought: 'Damn, I can do this. I should've said "Ok." to that earlier invite".
