I've played that hole and to hit the green in one is very difficult. I layed up second shot in the bunker 3rd shot in the water 5th shot on the green 3 great putts for an easy 8 .happy days get your moneys worth 😊

I liked it when he made reference to picking out 2 goal posts and hitting it thru them when lining up his drive off the tee. I have always really been just single target focused throughout my bag even with driver but perhaps I will give this swing thought a try for myself. I like the idea of that, it makes sense to me. Visualize a goal at the end of the fairway and try to shoot the ball in there! That’s a good visual for me will give it a try, thanks Matt!!!

Really liked the advice about always being positive. I think us club golfers are always looking at it as a "what if I don't". I think if we thought more like Matt we would shoot better scores.

Interesting to listen to Matt talk about his decision-making process on how to select the correct shot. However, for recreational golfers, the main strategy is to understand what we are capable of. There is no sense in trying to hit a "worldy" when there is zero chance in pulling it off. Play within your ability zone and keep the Big numbers off the scorecard!

At last years Mexico championships on the 18th hole seen him get up and down from a front green side bunker and it was the best successful bunker shot I've ever seen. And he shot a 68. great talent and is a nice dude

Best advice on the lay up. Take away the possibility of hitting into trouble #1 ahead of hitting your ideal yardage for the approach, don't play loose, hit a serious shot to a target.

More Matt Wallace please? This is much a game that you play between your ears as much as with a club and a ball. Make a decision, stick to it and go for it! (unless otherwise convinced by a good caddie). I never have the luxury of any type of caddie, so tend to um! and ah! when standing over my ball ready to strike, still doubting my decision, still not sure what feels right/wrong. But No More! Thanks Matt (and Neil), great video.

Stroke index 8 means it's a par 5 for anyone on daily handicap of 8 or higher. That means on for 3 and 2 putt for a 5 for 2 stableford points.

Loved the video and the dude has a gorgeous swing. Interestingly, google earth is an invaluable resource for golfers because you can measure point to point anywhere on the golf course. From the back of the box they’re standing on its actually only 247 to the front edge of that green so nowhere close to 290. To be fair, if it were an actual tournament you can bet his caddie would have him completelt dialed in.

Only thing I wish he had mentioned, since he fades the ball, why did he line up more to the left side on the tee shot? Something to ask the pros, why/where do they pick their spot to tee it up. Many amateurs just line up in the middle..

99% of players should avoid the water and bunkers with something that leaves them the 100-120 shot. On in 2, birdie attempt. For most of us, Matt's drive into the hazard, drop, and chip over the creek, on the short side, would be a bogie at best. Also Not worth the stress and mental effect on the rest of the round. Can we please go back to hazard vs "penalty area" and have the option for a shoulder drop? The knee drop looks horrible.
