1. I like the fact that you were able to put it together and use it without going to the instructions. 2. Great for me because being mobile, I can take it where I need it 3. Seems to be very easy to use and secure. 4. It seems to have a locking mechanism to ensure it doesn't rewind (listening to the clicks as you turn the hand). The ONLY con I have is as soon as I finished watching your video (which was a great presentation of the tool, and you should be their spokesperson), I went right online to see about one, and that's when I was like DARN IT! On Amazon it was a little over $500 compared to the mcpherson which was over $700, but if I had to choose between the two, I would choose the SK3000. Great video Ken!

Astral Auto Repairs It has some kind of a clutch in it. If there is no spring in it, its real easy to release. The more tension thats on it , the harder it is to turn the handles counter clockwise to release it.

I just got mine today. Assembly took maybe 5 minutes. Seems like a solid piece to compress the springs. Can't wait to try it now! I feel like the 8 times I'm going to use it, will have paid for itself. The autozone/advance auto rental is sketchy at best. No reason to not be safe about it. So I'm happy!

You can put the bottom piece it two different ways for different type of struts.
@diriazi
@diriazi 4 жыл бұрын
You know I was thinking about that and if you put it the way it’s on the picture, there is no way that strut could slip off probably got to have a deep landing so the bottom of the strut doesn’t go anywhere. I’m a big chicken when it comes to working on cars. Thank you

Never, never ever use the pneumatic or electrical assistance to unscrew or screw on the shock abosorber. It should only be done by hand using both the assistance socket levers comprising the allen key or torx key and spanner. I learned this the hard way by ruining brand new shock absorbers by Bilstein for my Chevrolet Cruze. The long spindle of the damper should never be spun at high speed which is directly connected to precision elements and valves inside the damper or shock absorber.

You should have showed how you replace the shock itself not just the spring which is rare. This process shows that you have to compress the spring, remove the nut and cap, decompress the spring, remove the spring, don't know how you remove the old shock?? being you didn't, replace the shock into the device, replace the spring, compress the spring again, install the cap and nut, decompress the spring. Even when I used to use my old two piece Macpherson spring compressors, all I had to do was compress the spring once, remove the nut and cap and just slip the new shock in and replace the cap and nut then decompress the spring once. It may not be portable as in this JackTech but I'll stick to my ten year old Brannick bolted to the wall.
@1970chevelle396
@1970chevelle396 5 жыл бұрын
roadrunner Once you’ve compressed and Decompressed the spring there’s nothing much to replacing the shock. Takes only a few seconds to take it out of the spring compressor and to put the new shock in there.

Thanks for the quick reply used it on the Tacoma 2004 and it worked well. The only issue i have is the base you have to step on it so that it doesn't move as much. Bolting it on is an option but they didn't drill the wholes for you on the base.

I’m looking at getting one of these as I’m always adjusting my coil overs on my 4Runner. How would this work with something like a Bilstein 5100 or a coil over where the bottom spring cup is adjustable and just sits on a clip ring? I would think as soon as you released pressure or it would cause issues because it looks like the bottom is held in place by that adjustable perch?
