Do you have a set of studio lights? If yes, what are they and why do you like them?

I know this old and you might have heard this already, but anytime something does not go down all the way on the spigot, it is normally due to the cap cover being left on the threads on top of the spigot. Many items that go on spigots are wide enough and deep enough that this does not matter, but there are numerous items where the item just will not sit all the way down unless you remove the cap. I saw this this weekend when I pulled these identical LED lights out and attached them to my stands. Once I removed the plastic covers they sat all the way down and were solid.

I just got these and didn't have an issue with the stand. I do have a very iffy Bluetooth connection via my iPhone 8 plus. It's not a deal breaker, but it is an interesting challenge to have. Overall I'm liking the lights and I'm glad they keep their last setting when unplugging them. That way, I can control them in my studio via a smart plug switch.

Then you were lucky 😇 I can vouch for the fact it keeps previous settings. It's a life saver! Overall, I think it's one of the best studio lights for intermediate level work.

I have the Neewer 660 bi-color for the past week or so. I'm looking at the RGB version, but the 530, came up with a discount today and started looking at the smaller RGB versions. Just to see if that would be an option for me.
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
This will be a good option. However, please note this is only 25W and only suitable for smaller setups.

@@GnomezGrave I also have a Godox SL60w going through a 33-inch deep parabolic softbox, and a 100w standard CF bulb bouncing off of 3-foot white cardboard for fill. My apologies. I was thinking about what I was adding, which are these light panels.

Then it will be good enough 🙂

@@GnomezGrave I hope, the heck so. lol. Currently, a 3 point lighting setup, going on a 4 point lighting setup.

Hey dude, do you find it bright enough in the just the white light mode with 120 LEDS? Thanks in advance :)
@GnomezGrave3 жыл бұрын
It's good enough for normal usage (like mine). But the range is not good, so it's bettet up close.

@@GnomezGrave Thanks for replying dude, I ended up going with the regular 480 advanced. It has 240 white leds and 240 yellow leds and it's a newer version so they are much brighter. Don't think I would've used RGB much anyways, but it was only 30 bucks more so I was tempted. But after learning and understanding lumens, i think I made the right choice. Thanks again! PS: Your video was really helpful and good :) Keep it up!

Nice video, dude. But it’s now April 2021, and these lights are MUCH less expensive here in the states than the prices you mentioned. Are you in the EU paying VAT and heavy import duties? I just ordered two RGB 480s...the kit configuration with the clamp-on-a-table stands, for $139 U.S., free shipping. I paid this same $139 for two bi-color 660s with full stands.
@GnomezGrave3 жыл бұрын
Well, I guess the prices have gone a lot down for these. But they still work without any issue! I guess we're paying quite a lot tax in EU. 😢

what was your lighting set up for this video? were you using one of the neewer lights as a key light and the 2nd one in the back? Thanks!
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! One key light (Neewer) and a stand lamp (from IKEA) in the background.

what were your camera settings when you were filming this video? shutterspeed, fps, iso, aperture, and light output
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
I honestly can't remember all the settings. But I usually use 1/100, 50fps, ISO 400, f2.0 or f3.5. For this video, the light was set to around 50%, but right across my face.

800 has more LEDs. So it's brighter. Most of the other features are the same.

Awesome video dude. I’m looking at picking up a pair of these as Amazon has them in the Black Friday sale. I’ve got a couple of the thinner Neewer strip lights and I have a similar issue with the stands. Quite flimsy. But the lights themselves are awesome.
@GnomezGrave4 жыл бұрын
Yes, these are awesome lights except the stands. Maybe we can put a piece of rubber there to stop wobbling. 😬

@@GnomezGrave definitely there must be a simple fix for it. I’m planning on using mine for some still life photography as well as video so can’t wait for them to arrive!
