That might be the best demo of how to do that twisting motion with the curling iron that I've seen! And a very beautiful result on both sides!

I think the final results are so similar it will come down to who feels more comfortable with which tool. Great tutorial.

I agree! I will say though, you can create more looks with the flat iron. I sometimes will do the rocking motion thing in the back, all over. It creates a really fun beach look.

Hi Summer I'm a stylist. I cut my own hair using your slightly graduated bob technique. I've done it many times on customers but for fun did it your way. Turned out great. Lots of shape and movement!

If you ever been to a Drybar salon, they do the same technique. But they name this technique after drinks/beverages. Pretty cool right? I used to work at one. This is called Mai tai there.

@@StylesBySummer Well hey, ur kinda a big deal ya know♥️….😉👍🏼HAVE to make sure that we tell the people we appreciate, exactly that. While I can only speak for myself and my BFF’s who ALL recc’d you to me, WE appreciate YOU. You are detailed about what you show us as well as concise and clear about the “why” and the “why not” to do those specific ‘things’ and that makes a big difference in choosing whom I am going to follow and watch every time a notification pops up. To watch ANY ‘tutorial’ in order to learn how to do something that I do not know HOW to do, it makes a HUGE difference when whomever I am watching, actually EXPLAINS why you should or should not do something. A HUGE difference TBH. It is how I used to teach my Nursing students. To JUST say “Do it this way because I said so…” sounds very archaic as well as assuming what I SAY is ALWAYS RIGHT and as you know all too well, every single client (for you) and Patient (for me) is an entirely different experience and we love that you EXPLAIN why this technique may work best for _____ because of _____. Etc etc. All in a days work doll! You have found something you do incredibly well to the point of excellent and you LOVE what you do, which my Daddy always told me meant that you will technically never work a day in your life. THAT is one of the secrets to success. Kudos to you Summer. It has been really great to watch you grow and grow and your followers are becoming more savvy in their questions and comments as well as the stories they share. That kind of growth is a really neat thing to watch from the side lines. You deserve it, you have worked hard to get here. ♥️ Don’t quit as we count on you! (No pressure LOL!🫀).

@@kearabevels thanks doll, I am in 🇨🇦and I do not know if we have Drybar here but I will look it up. I do love their concept but I did not know they named their techniques after Drinks. Clever marketing even if I do not drink anymore LOL! I do know we have a few Blow out places here but when I was ‘ill’ a few years ago, I lost all of my Ginger hair…..almost waist length……(I still get sad when I see that beautiful Irish girl on YT with the Red Hair almost to the floor and she does incredible plaits of all kinds…….gorgeous!!) I thought it would NEVER come back at all and I was NEVER going to wear a wig. Pretty much out of defiance I am certain LOL, and then all of a sudden….peach fuzz! WOO HOO! White down peach fuzz like on a baby chick (but white LOL) so as it started to grow and GROW it DID, I (actually all I did was open my ipad to Summer LOL) taught my husband how to do a blow out LOL…..(THANK YOU SUMMER!!!! I believe he has a little crush on you as well LOL!) and believe it or not, he is the one that, to this day……does my blow outs! A great big Ret. K9 Cop……if his friends only knew LOL!!! He has even mastered my Flat iron but I don’t THINK I would trust him to do all of THESE twists and turns with the barrel iron……trust issues LOL!! I want to KEEP my Platinum Blonde Hair!!!! I will absolutely look into Drybar though as I bet he would LOVE a break from being my personal stylist!! (He has warned me that he ONLY KNOWS how to do a #3 so he will NOT be getting near my head with ANYTHING sharp!!!). Thanks for the tip doll!!! I really appreciate that as we don’t KNOW what we don’t KNOW!!! 💜♥️

Hello! My first time watching your reel. Thank you so much for showing the two different tools. I just got about 4 inches of my hair cut off and into an Italian Bob. My stylist, who I adore tells me I have very fine and very thick hair. I also have, I guess you would call it a blessing, wavy hair as a result of having chemotherapy 34 years ago (by the way, I would not recommend that you go through chemo in order to get wavy hair!). I am coming up on 71 years old and I have very few gray hairs, I guess that's another blessing. But my hair is partial highlighted in blonfe babylights. I love to try different products and I'm going to be buying the Dry Lift. Thank you for that recommendation. I have subscribed now so I'll be following you whenever you post.

@StylesBySummer8 ай бұрын
Lol. I used to never use one and my hair really suffered. I also use more heat on my hair than the average person I'd say, but it is something you should incorporate as much as you can!

Which do u use most often a curling iron or the rounded flat iron? I’m very new to curling my hair even though I’m 55😅. I wouldn’t be able to do my hair without any of your videos! Flat straight hair is such a pain.
@StylesBySummer8 ай бұрын
I probably do grab the curling iron more but if I want a different look or to edge it up I will use flat iron. That specific flat iron I can create multiple type of waves with it too so it's versatile!

Why you decided keeping your hair shorter? Did you plan to grow longer ? Which heat setting you using? Your hair type need pomade or wax to style after you curl?

What temperature setting did you use for the heat tools?
@StylesBySummer8 ай бұрын
I had them on the 3rd setting. I'm not sure what actual heat temp is though. They each have 5 choices and max temp I believe is 400, so the setting I use it on...I'd guess it's about 360/370?
