Little Sunshine don’t know if it helps but I was having the same problem & started using Sally products. Once a month 2-step protein treatment, 1 x a week color sealer step 1 & 2 - mix step 1 with 4 oz water & leave on 30 minutes, rinse & then use step 2 for 30 minutes. Alternate weeks use BTZ last call mask mixed with step 2 & leave on 30 minutes after shampooing. These are bonding (Olaplex dupe) products. When Washing use Sally ion sulfate free shampoo & ion conditioner. Before shampooing put xtra virgin coconut oil in hair & leave over night. Started using a satin pillow & also a satin cap. Pull hair up in soft high bun to sleep - leaves lots of body & not tangled. Being really careful when combing wet & not using much heat & using ion Repair leave in Spray. Has really helped my hair. Stopped breakage, Looks shiny & healthy after about 3 months. Sally’s has lots of sales.

A tip for girls who don't have time in the morning is to curl your hair at night, tighter than you would actually want it .The curls will fall while your sleeping and you wake up with nice wavy hair. I do this all the time and usually only have to touch up a few face framing pieces in the morning!

This is an easy one for you. It's because your hair is so long. Imagine if you were to attach weights to your curls. That would pull them straight, right? Well hair that long is heavy, so basically that's what's happening.

I want to learn how to do wet sets. I’m old fashioned. I would love to know the best products to use for setting your hair in rollers or those long things. What the hell is the name of them. Thank you
@SmileBaby143
@SmileBaby143 6 жыл бұрын
Tracy You can use curling rods (perm rods, soft or hard.) or those long hair clips, ugh, I forgot what they are called at the moment lol, but they are the long single side sliver ones that work for pin curls and finger waves (finger waves are another thing in their own tho.). In school we would use gel, any cheap hair gel (not super strong hold), deluded it with a smudge of water and we would comb it into the hair and place the rollers/ set the hair in place with the clips and sit the client under the dryer, the hair would dry within 20mins completely and then you would take it out, comb out the hair with a soft paddle like brush to prevent frizz, and boom, you get that 50s look or huge hair glam look, of course using your fingers or brush you can make any look. If you don’t wanna use gel you can also use hair lotion that they sell in beauty stores. The only hard part is the parting of hair and the position in which you roll it. If you roll it straight out from the head you will have good volume, straight down the part towards the floor will create a Loose look (thing 40s) and then finally if you pull it straight up towards the ceiling your gonna get max volume. I hope this helps.
@AleeyaDanielle
@AleeyaDanielle 6 жыл бұрын
They are super simple. Just get your rollers and your section will be the same size as the roller. So if you have ones that are 2in by 1 in that’s how big of a section you will take. Then just simply roll it down and secure it with double prong clips, let it dry the style however you desire

AleeyaDanielle Thank you very much. I guess I need more practice. I get lazy because my hair is long I try to squeeze as much hair as I can in the roller or I roll it up tight towards my scalp and it flops back down damn near my ears. I guess that could be a look 🙄but not what I was going for.

I only learned about a year ago to start curling from the top or middle of the shaft of hair. I used to always try to curl it as though the iron was a curler... with my ends in the curling iron first & then rolled up. Now my biggest problem is that my hair always gets caught in the clip where it attaches to the barrel & I end up ripping hair out. Your hair didn't do this... is it my fine hair, me, or a cheap curling iron that is to blame?

The frizzy roots thing, running the iron over it a bit it a golden tip! I am white, pretty basic hair, it’s fine but there is loads of it. And it’s unruly 🙈 the sleek curl with the fuzzy roots is so me. I always think it makes me look like I’ve got grown out dreadlocks with fuzzy top bits. Dreads are cool, love them, but not if you are trying to aim for a sleek seamless look 😆

Could you get tighter, rounder curls in your hair, or did the curls come out that way because of your cut/deep condition? I watched your video on why hair doesn't always curl, and your practice head Hazel has curls like what I get at the salon (I've got curly afro-textured hair, very similar to Solange's natural texture...) Since I watched that video first, I thought your hair would turn out like Hazel's, so I'm curious. When I curl my hair at home, it looks similar to yours in _this_ video; I can't get mine to look like Hazel's without going to my hairstylist.

I loved this video. I'm gonna try it this way. But it's very similar to how I do it now. My biggest problem is even with hair spray my hair is straight again in about 30 to 60 mins. About 10 mins with no hair spray. So if you could happen to have more tricks on how to make it stay in place for fine hair... that would be great! Also my hair is about 2 inches from my waist... which I'm sure doesn't help. Also... I was wondering what the differences between wands and curling irons... cause if I use my wand my hair will stay curled into the next day but it's so much more time that way. So any help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. And I can't wait to see if this helps my hair.

Okay I literally never comment on videos but I found yours last night and just tried out your technique it worked like magic. I never had my clip facing forward and would always get the bent shape in my hair and it wouldn’t hold or look good but making sure the clip is forward and the barrel is facing the wall made all the difference!!!

Help! help! I am struggling with the sectioning of the hair to curl. And darn it, watching you confused me more! : ) The first section you grabbed next to your face was quite wide from front to back. For example 7:17 shows just how wide of section you grabbed. Am I making a mistake by dividing that section into vertical 3rds? Would that technique end up too Shirley Temple/prom curl? Thanks anyone! : )

Oh wow, this is invaluable to me! I don’t curl often because it fries the crap out of my already damaged hair, but when I do I have zero control of the curls, it’s kinda like a cross my fingers and hope for the best situation. Now I see we can plan ahead for our curls! Question: do all the curls have to be curled the same direction or can you alternate backwards and forwards for a more random and natural look? Thanks xxxxxx 💋

Awesome video and tips. Thank you! I do have one question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere. When I curl mine I end up with little visible kinks in my hair, not because I am turning the barrel the wrong way once I clip it on (that also makes me cringe!!), but from the clip itself. Like when you were unclipping and clipping again quickly as you rotated the iron around, that would leave little kinks every time I did it! Is this just because of the curling iron I'm using? It's a cheaper one from Target.

THANK YOU! Finally a video that told me exactly what I was doing wrong. 29 years old and have never been able to curl my hair. Just when I though I got the hang of it, I realized I was only able to properly curl the hair on the right side of my head but not the left- but it was because when I crossed over to the left side the barrel of the curling iron was not in the back! I finally learned my mistake and was able to curl my hair perfectly!

Is there realistically any way to make curls stay in long hair (butt length)? I've had it done with rollers & then essentially redone with a wand as well done with a wand & then pinned up to set. Neither worked for longer than an hour. The only time my hair has ever held a curl was when it was like shoulder length.

I'd like to know, too. This has been a tug-of-war for me. My hair is extremely thick and extremely long. It has a natural curl. The sheer weight pulls curls loose or out. So then it takes many curl products plus firm hold products, which add more weight, which half defeats the products. While I like my natural curl, I'd love to have a nice, polished curl sometimes! The natural curl gets looser the longer my hair gets; but iron or roller curls just... Fall out. And then it's a frizzy mess, my hair's curl fighting the unnatural curl. 🤷

Hello I am Italian I am 32 years old. I have naturally curly hair I don’t know if I need smoothing cream or certain type of frizzy for my hair, but not always do sometimes does my hair poof up that’s not a big issue the big issue is when I do like beach, waves, or wand curls my hair does not hold a curl, I can get my hair to be smooth to stay straight. That’s not my biggest issue. The biggest issue is the curl not stain I like certain type of curls like beach, waves and stuff. Why is my curls always falling out or like a wand or the three bear curls to give it that mermaid beach wave that also too, does not stay. That’s the biggest problem I have.

Hi, I'm Jen. Thanks for all the great content . Will you address split ends and ways to eliminate tthe? I have waist length hair and although I rarely heat style and don't color, the age of my hair makes me have quite a few split ends. I trim the length, but most of my splits are at various lengths thru my hair as the newer growth/shorter hair is always growing out. I know dusting helps, and my best method is to simply look thru my hair and cut off the little splits wherever I find them. Do you have an opinion on the Splitender device? Or other suggestions? Would love a video addressing the trouble with sp!it ends above the bottom length. Thanks!

I have always used a wand or curling iron without a clamp. The clamp is what I'm having trouble with. So watching you I need to tighten the iron, then bump the clamp with my thumb over and over while I take the iron out? I'm getting it so tight in there, it won't release when I try to take it out. By the time I roll one side, and finish with the other side, the first side has fallen flat. You said use a flexible hair spray. What kind would you recommend? I have silver/gray hair that is thin and hard to hold a curl and almost to my bra in back. I love beach waves, but I have to use a small wand to get that look and it takes forever, so I thought I would try an iron with a clamp. Thank You
