This is a great format for the lesson. I like how you started with what the person in the inferior position is trying to do and then explained the submission. Good job!

Those all seem to require a lot of setup, myself as a white belt a bout 6 months in I find I can only attempt a few submissions with any hope - what they have in common is very little setup to launch . 1 - arm triangle from mount or side control - often If I somehow I end up naturally with one underhook and the other hand behind their head on the floor if I get this far - then I can just walk their arm up past their head - get both my legs over to same side as their arm - drop my head into their arm and squeeze... surprised it works alot :) 2 - Arm bar from mount- often when in mount the guy on bottom is escaping an arm pops up - just grabbing it and swinging front leg over their head sometimes gets the submission - this doesn't work for me unless against another white belt but it has happened :) 3 - Triangle from closed guard. Seems all you need is to get one of their arms across your mid line and you can shoot for this right away from closed guard - I cant finish it on a coloured belt but feels fast and dangerous to launch as an attack . 4 - The bow and arrow choke - I can never manage to get a rear naked setup but getting a lapel and sitting into the bow and arrow is way easier - again only on another white belt. NONE of these EER work for me : Cross collar choke, Ezekiel choke, Americana, Kimura , rear naked choke. lol.

How does the pressure get applied with the Ezekiel? Is it from the torque applied from the rotation? Beginner white belt, only been to 5 classes so I'm trying to improve my arsenal for whenever I roll with people in my class

Asking any experienced BJJ experts!! I just started my second class of Gi Bjj and rolled with someone who was a purple belt he had about 100lbs or over on me. As an inexperienced player I don't know to many submissions so at this point I just try and survive. This purple belt was submitting me like nothing it got to a point where the he cranked my knee so bad I felt a popping sensation. Is this normal or was he an ass and going to hard on a new member. Thoughts?
@PW-ez9bh
@PW-ez9bh 2 жыл бұрын
He was being a total dick and should have been looking out for you. Your uke is your best friend. You need to have a word with him and your sensei. If he doesn't change don't partner with him again. It's will be his loss. Hopfully a 2nd dan will teach him to be humble.

@TK-se8jq
@TK-se8jq 2 жыл бұрын
@@rougeegamer98 roll with who's available but try to stick to white belts. Don't ask a higher belt to roll they will come to you eventually. Also watch who you roll with some people are jerks and you want to avoid that type unless your a killer on the Matt.
