From that control position with the arm tied up, you can transition to his back, get points or go for the choke. Wonderful!! I love tying up the arm like that.

Nice. I use or cross lapel a lot with the tie up. Your details are good. Curious. Why not use in judo?

The reactions are different in judo. I have gotten this in judo but not consistently enough to make it really effective it's to easy for a judo guy to escape. I have stronger ways of attacking the position in Judo that don't really make to much since for BJJ.

@2.17 "for judo I wouldn't do this" Would you just another turn over or are you just talking about grabbing the ankle?? I do judo and will definitely be using this turnover come Monday :)

With your arm over the top and round their waist like that are you not vulnerable to having that arm trapped and being turned over yourself?

Travis, I could be wrong, but you don't get the points if you trasition from a stable turtle to side control, at least in IBBF, since the poins are awarded by passing the guard and turtle is not considered a guard. Even with this detail it is a pretty legit attack, I love who you teaches judo for bjj players, please continue with the good work!

Correct. But you took it out of context it's when you're passing and they go to turtle this is what you would want to do in order to score points rather than hangout in turtle looking for a possible back take. If you got them to turtle once you can get them to turtle from side control to work from the back. It's a valid point though and I should have done a better job of explaining that in the post.

good jitser would never seat in turtle like this having so many open points. Good turtle is different
