Alright Brett, here's my last. It's up to you to decide now. It's just advice. researching different types of natural sunscreen options. White clay (kaolin): Very fine, light-colored clay that's often used in cosmetics. Rice powder: Finely ground rice, which has been used in traditional Asian skincare. Arrowroot powder: A fine, white powder often used as a natural alternative to talc. Finely ground oats: must be very fine. Put in coconut oil and beeswax (double boiler) and the whichever choice above. No guarantees - just ideas. AI came up with these ideas. tldr; did you notice how I got you a little riled up in a previous post - it's all PART OF IT...

Glad you’re back and feeling good. Being sidelined is the worst! Been rehabbing my leg for six months from nerve damage. Six months ago my leg was to weak to get up my board. I’m up and riding again and trying to get back to a high level of surfing again, but just stoked to be able to ride again. 48 years of surfing and looking forward to a lot more!

I've taken a couple of months off from surfing lots of times in my 45 year surf career because of injury.There is nothing like that comeback surf day when you think to yourself this is what I live for,this us what I enjoy more than anything (of course family first,but you know what I mean) . I know how you feel, I just missed a month of summer where I couldn’t surf because of my road rash on my knee got infected from going in the water and my knee would rub the board on my pop up. But now I’m good and have my first day of surf team for my highschool on Monday 🤙🏽

1. Copy right the Vlog name. 2. Try a neoprene compression "brace" for your knee. 3. What's the water temp? 4. Body boarding with your kids is the best thing ever. Remember it. I did it with my kids at the exact same age and it is one of my best water memories. Didn't get to do it enough as a work move took me to the mid-west.

And the true locals that were born and raised here aren't driving around in brand new lifted trucks. So you enjoy that East coast. And remember just cuz you're a pro surfer doesn't mean here. I’m not sure what new lifted trucks, or me spending $70 total to get my leg checked out, or not being from California, has to do with anything in this video. But, I do cherish life here due to its simplicity, isolation, and benefits of being on a strip of sand without too many people around in comparison to other parts of the world.

@@brettbarley it could be that the info I got on you is bad. I'm 45 years old so I come from the generation of the bud tour and surfing with guys like Archie Charlie k, Chris Brown that generation. A photographer moved here from the East coast about 15-17 years I hooked him up with Aaron Chang and that's the guy that was telling me about you and a bunch of guys at Spanish house and other spots I surfed when I was riding for hyperflex C.I. and running one of the biggest surf shops here in SD. But your name kept coming up and up and up about how you guys are so localized maybe I'm wrong. I grew up surfing a place called New Break and I was trying to explain to these guys that were trying to hassle me did the East coast wasn't s*** compared towhat we've gone through as groms here on the West coast just to get sponsored. I couldn’t find your Instagram under that name. But I’m from NC not Florida. I’ve never surfed Spanish House, and only Sebastian Inlet a handful of times for contests growing up. 15-17yrs ago I was a 12-14yr old kid, so I highly doubt the photographer was talking about me. Growing up where I did made making a career out of surfing a difficult task. Absolutely sheltered from any potential spotlight from sponsors and whatnot. I’m thankful to have pulled it off, thanks to loving to edit videos and having friends film me growing up. All that aside... im assuming you’ve got me mixed up with someone else. I drive a 15yr old truck, cause if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. It’s not jacked up, cause lifted trucks with big tires drive terribly in the sand here. And I’ve not once in my life shown up somewhere expecting special treatment cause I surf professionally. I typically just pick off waves people don’t want, and let the boys have there’s, whether in Hawaii or wherever. I know how it is when my home break is crowded with guys being greedy who are from out of town, and I’d never wanna be “that guy” when I’m elsewhere.

I just wanted to add I also know what it's like to be injured. Back in 1993 body borders were doing a maneuver called ARS. Air roll spin. Basically it's a rodeo flip but on a bodyboard. I broke my right ankle trying to pull it off twice. Once was Thanksgiving morning, and the other was the very next year's Halloween morning. Weird huh. Having a background in skating and snowboarding we just called it the sushi roll. Essentially it's a frontside rodeo flip. I've got pictures on my Instagram of me doing it at Scripps inn la Jolla. I think the difference is you were getting less coverage where you from, and here on the West coast in San Diego all the way up to Oceanside we were getting nothing but over coverage. I was just talking to Conner Coffin about how much he liked playing guitar which I had no idea he did. I used to work for Taylor guitars for many years after my surfing career. So anyway I tried calling the photographer I was telling you about no answer so I just texted him a message to call me. Sounds like he's wrong. You seem humble I've watched plenty of your videos. Apples and Oranges. California has more size more often, but Hatteras barrels better more often. California has pointbreaks, but Hatteras has empty beachbreaks. No comparison really, two totally different types of surfing and wave conditions .
